SFRUNWAY (formerly Street Fashion Week) returns for its fifth year during New York Fashion Week for a jaw dropping homage to Streetstyle culture

The only Street Style Show, Street Fashion Week opens up NYFW with 8 emerging street style designers.

New York, NY – On Saturday February 12th, 2022 SFWRUNWAY opens up New York Fashion Week with their flagship fashion show featuring eight emerging designers. Amongst the plethora of New York Fashion Week shows, SFWRUNWAY is the only show dedicated exclusively to streetstyle and ready to wear brands.

Street Fashion Week rebranded as SFWRUNWAY to expand its boundaries in a narrow market while rendering a voice and platform to emerging designers. To respond to overcrowding at their previous shows, SFWRUNWAY broke up their production into two segments; a 1pm daytime show and a 6pm evening show.

Taking stage in the heart of Manhattan’s Chelsea, this season’s show started off with a daytime 1pm show. Founder, Naomi Alabi, took center stage to welcome guests. Naomi Alabi greeted the audience expressing her gratitude for their support and spoke briefly of the company’s mission to continue to provide a voice to emerging designers. She then presented Ms.

April Walker with a “Pioneer of Streetwear” award. Soon after the first designer, German based, Pia Bolte and her army of models took the stage. Pia Bolte is a German based designer who displayed a collection of her niche style: a mix-mosh combination of leather, symbolic patches, textures and fabrics including denim and lace combined gives one the idea of how total chaos came together to form a perfect universe.

The next designer to showcase was Friskmegood by Cierra Boyd. One by one models walked out with pieces from her collection that featured hand-made garments from reworked sneakers. The creativity behind her brand sparked positive reaction from the audience based on endless applause. Next came, Akobi designed by Hotmomma.

Akobi is usually a male designer but chose to present unisex pieces to display the versitility of her brand. After that, designer Ron Dyce who displayed his first women’s wear collection including a complete line of exquisite, elegant gold encrusted heels.” Finally to close the 1pm show was New York based Llessur designed by Russel. Russel debuted his Runway collection titled “Volume II – Elemental” during February 2021 NYFW. SFWRUNWAY founcer Naomi Alabi credits this collections for securing LLessur as a modern lifestyle brand pushing gender boundaries through non-binary & empowering fashion for the everyday metropolitan.

Hours later the 6pm show was a continuation of a series of runway shows under the SFWRUNWAY brand. Again the 6pm show was opened with a greeting from owner, Naomi Alabi. One by one, designers showcased their collections to any excited, packed house in the following order: Akobi, Black Merchants, LLessur, Ron Dyce, and BGoldNYC.

Fashionistas looking to find out new trends in Streetstyle are encouraged to check out this innovative show as SFWRUNWAY presents collections from their latest generation of emerging designers down the runway. Each season, SFWRUNWAY hand selects the next generation of the industry’s most promising designers, takes them through their Mentorship Platform, and features them on the runway as a celebratory event completion.

VIP Guests in attendance were treated to complimentary cocktails Sponsored by: Essentia Water Bartenura and LVOV Vodka.
