The Bureau of Justice Statistics reports that a person is abused in the United States every 9-seconds, with other research claiming there are more than 463,000 abuse victims yearly in the USA. Even servicemen and women aren’t immune to such abuse. According to the New York Times, nearly one in four U.S. servicewomen report being assaulted in the military, highlighting an epidemic of abuse within the United States Armed Forces.
This quarter, Trauma 2 Truth highlights its diverse support network, offering a safe space, education, and resources aimed at helping trauma and abuse victims overcome challenges and take back control of their lives.
Trauma Education and Support
MST is a pervasive issue among the US armed forces, yet it is one that has been largely swept under the rug, leaving victims feeling helpless with nowhere to turn for support. Similarly, trauma and abuse across the general population is an often under-reported and widespread issue affecting millions.
Trauma 2 Truth focuses on providing a support network for active and veteran military men and women who have experienced traumatic experiences while serving their country.
Trauma 2 Truth Supports Victims By:
- Helping them understand what happened to them
- Defining abuse and trauma in the context of their experience(s)
- Opening up lines of communication regarding how that trauma has impacted their lives
- Acknowledging the abuse
- Identifying acts or situations where they were abused
- Developing healthy coping mechanisms
- Overcoming emotional and physical challenges to move forward with their lives

Education
Trauma survivors often have a lot of questions and a lack of understanding regarding what they are experiencing. Trauma 2 Truth offers a wide range of educational resources that survivors can explore to help them on the path of recovery.
Programs
The non-profit is developing programs and support centers throughout the United States, all aimed at providing support, resources, and a diverse range of services aimed at helping survivors and victims of abuse with the challenges of moving forward in life.
Community
Awareness and a system of support is at the heart of the Trauma 2 Truth community. Comprised of caring and compassionate advocates, professionals, and survivors, the community is diverse, welcoming, and an incredible resource for victims.
