Estel Day, granddaughter of Jan and Frank Day, co-founders of JAFRA Cosmetics, is following her grandparent’s legacy in the beauty industry and launching the Jan Day Pro Beauty Academy to help educate, mentor, and certify aspiring professional makeup artists. The academy, co-founded with pro makeup artist Jackie Alves, who is also the head educator of the program, will be the first of its kind: a professional makeup artistry academy specializing in Jafra Cosmetics. The beauty academy is named after Day’s grandmother, Jafra Cosmetic’s co-founder, Jan Day.
The launch of the Jan Day Pro Beauty Academy is coinciding with the recent announcement that Betterware de Mexico will acquire Jafra Cosmetics from its owner in Germany, Vorwerk Group, in a deal worth US$255mm.

The classes are online, live, and interactive. The course will finish with two modules focusing on professional makeup artistry in film/television and fashion runway, with special guests from the entertainment and fashion industry. At the end of the course, students will be provided with a certification of completion by the Jan Day Pro Beauty Academy. Included with the course, students will also receive over $875.—, USD, worth of Jan Day Pro Makeup Tools, a line of professional makeup products (all are vegan, paraben free, gluten free, and cruelty free) to compliment Jafra’s skincare and color collections.
