Singer & Songwriter Juracán Announces Release of Single “Dame Todo”

Since 2016 Pierre has focused on exploring and creating his own sonic world under Juracán. The focus of Juracán’s initial singles was all play and improvisation. Pierre has taught himself multiple instruments, songwriting, singing, production, mixing, and performing since his teenage years.

Portland, OR – March 31^st, 2022 – Pierre Carbuccia, known in the industry as Juracan, has formally announced this week the upcoming release of “Dame Todo.” “Dame Todo” follows the theme of two worlds – both in music, emotion, and language. This song’s first world is filled with insecurity, sung in English, and inspired by genres such as R&B, jazz, bolero, and trap. The second world is sung in English and mostly about overtly asking for one’s needs. It’s filled with confidence and clarity and inspired by genres such as latin urban, electropop, reggaetón, and ambient.

During a recent interview, Pierre was quoted as saying, “This song was inspired by introspection, time in isolation during the pandemic, and navigating dating (including dating apps) after ending a 10-year relationship. All while not really knowing what I needed or having the ability to express it due to working through loss, stressful world situations, depression, and uncertainty. It takes the listener through the journey I found myself in within these two themes/worlds. Therapy and journaling have helped a bunch.”

A regular performer in Oregon areas, Pierre played various gigs and venues under Juracán, including Ambient Nights in 2019, organized by the NW Post Rock Collective. In addition, Portland-based Mexican filmmaker and artist Rubén García Marrufo collaborated with Juracán for a performance called “Nacer,” supported by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Art, Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, and Regional Arts & Culture Council.

Pierre has spent time working on Caribe Norwé, a new project where he co-produces with Eric Leavell, who has co-produced and mixed both You Said and this upcoming single, Dame Todo.

Pierre recently said, “I am really proud and excited about the work I have put into this project (Caribe Norwé) and the upcoming release.” In relation to future work related to his solo project, he mentioned, “I will be releasing another single titled My Mind and will be dedicating time in the studio for a 4-song EP I have had in demo stages since 2021.”
