Sorfeo, a consumer products company based in Washington D.C. and Salt Lake City, has acquired its twelfth brand, Baker’s Edge. Baker’s Edge is a family of products for making brownies or lasagna where every piece is an edge piece.

Matt and Emily had the idea for the “every piece is an edge” brownie pan in 1998, but it took until 2005 to bring it to market. It was a classic case of an entrepreneur conceiving a product that ought to exist, and creating it through hard work and taking risks. They grew the business organically, and even pitched the product on Shark Tank in 2013. They didn’t secure an investment on the show, but Mark Cuban is an investor in Sorfeo, so they got a deal done with a “shark” in the end. “We’ve grown Baker’s Edge from our initial design to a family of great bakeware products and have enjoyed the entrepreneur’s journey. We’re excited to hand the oven mitts over to Sorfeo and see what magic the team can create with our original recipe” said Baker’s Edge co-founder and CEO Matt Griffin.
