Florida’s Barrier Reef is the only living coral barrier reef in the continental United States and the third largest coral barrier reef system in the world. It is quite literally situated at the American doorstep, which is why it is important to raise awareness regarding its importance in the next generation of Americans.
The Reef at America’s Doorstep is an inspiring new initiative in this regard, and it is basically a project that will raise awareness regarding this reef among the elementary school children in form of a coloring book. To make this project a success, its creator, who is an artist from South Florida, has recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter and he is welcoming generous community support and backing.
“The goal of this Kickstarter campaign is not only to get this beautiful coloring book into the hands of anyone who wants it, but also to get it into the schools.” Said Micah Blake, while introducing this project to the Kickstarter community. Based out of Southern Florida, Micah is an artist, music teacher, father, and entrepreneur. Moreover, his previous coloring books have sold more than 10,000 copies so far.
