MEMPHIS, TN – A new, national media platform, Self Made TV, is looking for aspiring filmmakers and is set to make its debut this summer.
Self Made TV launches on June 2, 2022, and will be available to download across all platforms.
The network will feature exclusive original content from independent Black filmmakers, as well as African American movies, television shows, and podcasts. One of its first projects will be a docuseries, titled Tiger Run. The docuseries will feature Deion Sanders and his journey so far as the head coach of Jackson State University and the six JSU football players eligible to be for the NFL.
Dee Brown is the founder and CEO of Self Made TV and the owner of Dee Brown Inc., which is the parenting company of the network.
“Self Made TV is a platform that allows culturally diverse groups to showcase their work in an authentic manner that supports the vision of the producer,” said Brown. “The network aims to be a safe place for creative minds to express themselves and showcase people of color in a diverse and positive manner.”
Monthly subscriptions to Self Made will begin at $4.99 and will give viewers unlimited access to content and first exclusives on future releases.
Brown is also the host of #HBCUYou, a lifestyle talk show that highlights HBCU graduates and leaders who are making their mark on the world.
