Corporate Venturing Executive and Serial Entrepreneur Christian Lindener Joins Growth Incubator Mach49

Munich and Redwood City, California – Today Mach49, the growth incubator for global businesses, announced that venture builder and startup veteran Christian Lindener will join as Board Member-in-Residence. Lindener extends Mach49’s rapidly growing corporate venture building practice across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) as large corporations in the region ramp up efforts to fuel their organic growth and build their own start-ups in-house.

Lindener brings exceptional expertise to help meet EMEA’s need for hyper growth and Global 1000–led disruptive innovation. He will join the venture building teams in London and Amsterdam to further support a growing base of Mach49’s multinational clients, including Hitachi, Pernod Ricard, Schneider Electric, Shell, SGS, and TDK Corporation.

“I believe that the next wave of innovation will belong to corporates if they embrace venture building and create new engines of growth,” commented Lindener. “I’m excited to work side-by-side with Mach49’s global corporate clients and will bring to the table more than two decades of experience building both corporate ventures and independent startups to propel and propose the growth of big companies.”

Lindener was previously head of Airbus Scale, the corporate venturing arm of the world’s leading aerospace company, where he led their internal and external innovation strategy. Prior to joining Airbus in 2019, Lindener was Managing Director of Wayra Germany’s technology corporate venture capital (CVC) unit, where he managed the selection and investment of startups to be integrated into Telefonicà’s technology portfolio.

A serial entrepreneur, Christian has co-founded several companies, including most recently Reflex Aerospace, a European satellite manufacturer; D3 Technologies AG, an open digital operations platform for the urban air mobility market; and others. Additionally, he has spent a significant part of his career advising more than 20 incubator and accelerator programs in Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. From 2015–2017 he served as Co-Founder and Director of TechFounders, a high-tech hardware accelerator based in Munich where he was responsible for the development of more than 50 startups.

Mach49 Founder and CEO Linda Yates commented, “As an entrepreneur, a venture capitalist, and also a C-Suite executive, Christian has an exceptional depth of perspective and is uniquely positioned to partner with large corporations to help them build their own internal incubators and accelerators to drive organic growth.”

“Christian joins Mach49 at an extraordinary time,” Yates continued. “The world’s largest companies are doubling down on efforts to build internal venture factories to create and launch portfolios of new ventures. With Christian’s vision and grit, our Global 1000 clients will gain a trusted partner to help them drive meaningful growth for their companies.”
