Quick Mobile Repair continues rapid growth with major Florida expansion

A string of grand openings in the ‘Sunshine State’ have now positioned the device repair business as one of the largest competitors in its sector

Following the rollout of an aggressive franchising strategy and the subsequent sale of dozens of individual-owned stores across the U.S., Quick Mobile Repair can now be counted among the largest American companies in the mobile device repair industry, the Arizona-based retailer has announced.

Quick Mobile Repair’s recent ascension to this top spot, just behind rivals including UBreakiFix and CPR in terms of cumulative U.S. stores open and planned, comes on the heels of a widespread push to foster a national footprint, particularly in Florida. There, the company has sold more than 40 franchised units to date and is currently in late-stage talks to sell at least 28 more.

“Looking at Florida, that’s the home turf of some of our largest competitors, but key parts of the state remain chronically underserved when it comes to fast, affordable tech repair solutions,” said Nick Fazio, founder and CEO of Quick Mobile Repair. “That’s where we come in.”

Fazio started the company in 2012, originally founding it as a one-man operation in the back of a Phoenix-area tobacco shop before eventually establishing brick-and-mortar locations throughout the region, including an initial franchised venture in neighboring Utah two years ago.

“I’m so proud of how far this company has come, particularly in terms of our Florida growth,” Fazio added.

In Florida, the brand has worked to establish itself in high-income, undersaturated markets including the greater Tampa Bay area, Southwest Florida and metropolitan Orlando, which saw nearly 60 million visitors in 2021 alone.

Quick Mobile Repair’s newest Florida store opened its doors on July 9 in Westchase, an affluent suburb of Tampa, according to local media reports, with the two-day grand opening event at that location giving QMR its most profitable inaugural weekend in company history.

Its presence in the state is further set to grow exponentially as it continues to open stores at an average rate of one new location every four weeks, the company said.

By the end of 2022, Fazio projects that Quick Mobile Repair will have at least 15 operational stores throughout Florida and upwards of 100 total U.S. units sold, roughly two-thirds of which may be in the “Sunshine State” alone — a footprint so significant that the company hasn’t ruled out opening a corporate headquarters there in the near future.

In addition to sustained growth in its other existing U.S. markets, including Kansas City and Salt Lake City, Quick Mobile Repair’s leadership continues to keep its eye on expansion in new markets.

Conversations with confirmed and potential franchisees nationwide are “ongoing,” Fazio said, declining to give specific details about upcoming growth plans.

However, he did hint that both the greater Atlanta area and several major cities in Texas are on the shortlist for near-term market entry, with cities that are currently unserved by Quick Mobile Repair potentially playing host to dozens of new QMR locations by 2025 thanks to the company’s strategic focus on franchising.
