Luggage Drop Launches New Short-Term Luggage Storage Service – Will It Be the Next Airbnb?

Short-term luggage storage for the modern traveler, How the next Airbnb’s of the world are changing travel for the better.

July 21, 2022 – With more than 2.29 billion annual trips annually and the rise of popular home-sharing services such as Airbnb and Vrbo, additional services are emerging to support this new trend in travel. The new tech-enabled company, Luggage Drop is providing a short-term solution for travelers who are weighed down by backpacks and suitcases with their eco-friendly luggage storage locations.

The Luggage Drop concept originated with a group of frequent travelers who often found themselves in a new place wanting to quickly explore the sights and sounds of the city but were constrained by bulky luggage filled with their belongings.

As a result, Luggage Drop was launched in 2019 in downtown Nashville to alleviate this pain point for traveling to the awesome city of Nashville. Luggage Drop has been conveniently located in the heart of Music City for the past three years, just two blocks from downtown Broadway.

How does it work, you ask? It’s like having a personal on-demand storage locker. Luggage Drop can be used to store luggage, gym bags, backpacks, sales material, or anything else that is holding them back.

It’s a simple process. The visitor simply selects their preferred drop-off time and date on the company’s website which guarantees their spot in line. When the customer arrives at the location to drop their items, the items are tagged with re-usable digital tags that are tracked via the customer’s phone number.

Once they’ve completed the quick 90 second check-in process, the items are moved to secure storage rooms, where the items are stored for the entirety of the booked time. The customer is then free to explore the city luggage-free.

Luggage Drop guarantees the safety and security of your belongings with the companies DropGuard Insurance up to $2,500 per bag. Storage rooms are located in a secure area that is off-limits to customers, while access to storage rooms is restricted to private floors, with steel-locked doors that require a security key.

The cost of storing a bag for a 24-hour period is only $7.95 per bag, which includes the bag storage fee and insurance for each item, however, upgrades such as delivery or pickup by their vetted rideshare partners, or after-hours service are available for an additional fee.

Luggage Drop is currently launching in new markets and offers franchise and partnership opportunities in new territories all over the world.
