nukhufest 2022 to showcase the latest films, shorts, music videos, and new media in Downtown NYC this fall

In a media landscape overflowing with content options, finding videos and movies worth your while can often be a paralyzing exercise. nukhu — a dynamic curated video community and annual arts festival — was created to help solve this dilemma.

Create a free nukhu.com account and join nukhufest, a festival where the winner is determined by the public. Watch and vote for your favorite Semi-Finalist nuvees (nukhu movies) to get started.

Dedicated to discovering and amplifying the most unique burgeoning voices in film, animation, and new media; nukhu’s platform helps creators and fans find their niche, regardless of how seemingly obscure. Perhaps you’re a fan of the claymation genre and also love coming of age stories and pets — you may enjoy Companion, a 2020 finalist and favorite among fans. “We help niche audiences discover nuvees they’ll love, using our unique recommendation engine and tagging system” says Sanjay Singh, founder. Singh believes fans shouldn’t be limited to just content similar to what they’ve already watched, and that the best content discovery happens when viewing habits are occasionally challenged. nukhu allows fans to browse a diverse selection of nuvees spanning a broad range of human expression, from the best in upcoming and established storytellers. This year’s Semi-Finalists are from global cities including New York City, Los Angeles, Burbank, San Diego, San Francisco, Paris, Manchester, Madrid, Tel Aviv, Istanbul, Amsterdam, Budapest, Cairo, Kyiv, Taipei, and more.

Now in its seventh year, nukhufest is an annual arts festival that complements the streaming platform, and is held each fall in New York City. All nuvees that are completed and submitted within the last year are eligible to compete in nukhufest, where winners are determined by online vote. The top 10 nuvees to receive the most votes by September 24, 2022 will become this year’s finalists, and will be featured on billboards in Times Square and digital advertisements across the U.S. The finalist that receives the most votes by October 1st will be declared the 2022 Best Nuvee winner and presented with the nukhu ball award and a $3,000 cash prize at the annual closing ceremony in Downtown New York City. Filmmakers are encouraged to submit their films by September 17.

Creating a nukhu account and joining the community takes just minutes and is commitment free (visit nukhu.com/landing). Nuvees start at only ten cents, enabling anyone to watch what they want, when they want — there’s even an option for free viewing, supported by ads. “We think it’s important to support boundary-pushing storytellers and to make their work available to everyone, regardless of means. This is the culture we aim to foster and enable with nukhu,” says Singh.
