Best-selling educational author, long-time school leader, and educational entrepreneur Dr. Shira Leibowitz announces the release of her new book titled Havens of Hope: Ideas For Redesigning Education From The COVID-19 Pandemic. The book shares inspirational stories of navigating through the epic challenges of the past few years, along with insights on how to apply wisdom earned to redesign schools in ways that are responsive to students and the times.
“Through the past few years, educators have not only made the impossible, possible. We’ve made it routine. We’ve earned wisdom that we can choose to apply to reimagine and redesign education that is far more impactful and responsive to our times,” said Dr. Leibowitz. The book offers information about Dr. Leibowitz’s vision that’s so impactful, she believes it can change lives and even contributes to changing the field of education.
Dr. Leibowitz has spent 20 years leading and teaching programs for students from birth through doctoral students in education. “I’ve learned quite a bit about what works in education and what doesn’t,” she said.
In July 2019, she opened Discovery Village, a childcare and preschool center located just north of New York City. After the pandemic hit NYC, the center remained open to cater to the schooling needs of the children in the area.
Apart from Discovery Village, Dr. Leibowitz established REVABILITIES™, a consultancy company serving early childhood educational leaders to grow and lead their own purpose-driven, profitable programs.
