Spike Deemed ‘Epic Email Application’ of 2022 by KeepProductive

2022 was a year of digital workforces and remote setups, proving that the future of businesses is through interconnectivity. More than ever, the urgency for bulletproof messaging and productivity apps has skyrocketed at an unprecedented rate for organizations to survive and thrive in the new normal. In fact, the global usage of email this year has peaked at an all-time high of 4.3 billion users worldwide and is expected to continuously grow to 4.6 billion by 2025 – roughly, half of the world’s population.

According to research, 333.2 billion emails are sent every day, displaying a significant 13.6 million increase in just a year. With the immense traffic and avalanche of data combined, global leaders are investing in added layers of third-party software on top of their standard communication apps to make organizational messaging as smooth as possible.

Francesco D’Alessio, host and creator of KeepProductive, a YouTube channel that aims to make productivity software easier to understand, has recently ranked 2022’s top email applications in his latest episode to provide valuable insights on the must-have messaging apps for every user, ranging from CEOs, entrepreneurs, employees, to customers. Here are his findings:

On a scale of “epic” to “not worth it,” he deems Spike as the best email application with its cutting-edge, powerful email features combined with the simplicity of messenger. “More recently, they’ve been developing more interesting technology, and if you like communicating like Slack in a conversational sense, then Spike is one of those apps that will do well for you,” Francesco says. “It’s more of a messenger-like email application but has some cool functionality. If you’re looking for that more open option, then it’s for you. It has a good free plan and it has some good alternative pro-plan, and does come very well-rated in most app stores.

The Conversational Email Platform

Known as a conversational email platform, Spike eliminates stiff formalities, letting users communicate like humans without confusing and repetitive threads—just natural, flowing dialogue for an improved workflow. With Spike, all emails and threads are found under a single contact, including past and present communications. All the relevant information for one person is provided right where a user needs it: from casual chats, files, and social profiles, to important attachments. What’s more, profile pictures let users identify people at-a-glance, see when they are online, and even when they have received or read the message.

The team at Spike believes that users should talk to each other, not to the threads. With that, they eradicated the redundant headers, signatures, and threads that make emails hard and time-consuming to read and go through for a clear and clutter-free inbox.

Empowers Users with People Mode

Spike’s People Mode lets users speak efficiently and seamlessly with everyone just like in an instant messaging app. From clients, prospects, customers, managers, or colleagues, it displays each of the user’s sent and received emails in an easily recognizable format. Moreover, it enables users to easily control the app with just one click on a message to expand it to its original format.

Conclusion

Spike bested out other email applications like Polymail, Spark, Newton, Hey, and Outlook. “I’ve used [Spike] in the past and I found it very good for the messaging side of stuff, and I’m surprised how well it works and how speedy it works, especially if you have somebody else who’s using Spike at the other end. It is a lot faster that way,” Francesco concludes.
