RobotnMore developing and supplying intelligent kiosks for elders and people with disabilities

A big advantage of rich robot and healthcare experience

Seoul, South Korea – December 23, 2022 – RobotnMore (CEO Sang-won Jeon), which is participating in the ‘Close-to-Life Contact-Free Leading Service Project’ implemented by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (Chairman Seong-wook Heo, hereafter referred to as NIPA), is a robot specialized company and provides various services ranging from robots for university education to industrial robots based on ISO standards.

The ‘Close-to-Life Contact-Free Leading Service Project’, which RobotnMore is participating, is the second year this year, and NIPA has been implementing it since last year. It is a project that develops, demonstrates, distributes and spreads contact-free leading services that are closely related to the daily life of the people, and the response from participating companies is very positive. RobotnMore, headquartered in Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, has been selected as a designated task (autonomous mobility) and is developing and demonstrating ‘Autonomous mobility kiosk for elders and people with disabilities’.

Sang-Won Jeon, CEO of RobotnMore, said, “Our company is developing healthcare products by developing robot products and utilizing various technologies applied to robots. Through this project, we plan to commercialize digital healthcare products, such as mobility kiosk products for the elders and people with disabilities, and motion-based body measurement and analysis products which are currently under development. We are also considering establishing a healthcare platform business and providing services based on the data generated through our products”

Since the establishment of the company, RobotnMore has successfully carried out various R&D tasks related to artificial intelligence and various projects related to digital healthcare development using robot technology, and holds 11 related patents.

Before participating in NIPA’s ‘Close-to-Life Contact-Free Leading Service Project’, RobotnMore cooperated with CareU, which is also participating in this project, and developed and sold various products related to the elders and the people with disabilities (dementia training program, standing assistance system, educational kiosks, etc.). Compared to existing products, these products are

• First, by applying the robot’s autonomous function, education services are possible where robots can go to users

• Second, through a face detection algorithm, they are equipped with a gaze-adaptive display that can be used comfortably by people with disabilities in wheelchairs

• Third, a trackball as an input device, the convenience of use for the elders and people with disabilities, who have difficulty in moving their arms, has been improved.

• Fourth, it is a protective service for the people with social disadvantages using AI image analysis technology. In the case of the mobility kiosk, it is equipped with 9 types of various contents, which makes it possible to provide education without burden when using the actual kiosk.

The company’s existing sales of educational kiosks for the elders and people with disabilities have significantly increased installation and usage in government agencies and stores over the past two years due to COVID-19. RobotnMore plans to equip existing kiosks with robot functions and AI functions that can cope with abnormal situations through the NIPA’s advanced support project, so that more socially underprivileged people can benefit regardless of location.

Currently, there are several companies manufacture and sell educational kiosks. CEO Sang-won Jeon said, “Kiosk with autonomous function has not been released yet. There are many situations where customers need to buy 1 or 2 educational kiosks and move them to various places for training. In addition, a kiosk that can be used with a wheelchair is not available. Our product is mobile by reflecting the voices of actual educational kiosks, can be easily used by people with disabilities in wheelchairs, and recognizes and informs dangerous situations that may occur in educational institutions.”

CEO Jeon describes the strengths of RobotnMore as

• First, experience in developing emotional artificial intelligence smart speakers, emotional care AI robots and smart air purifier robot systems

• Second, development of various healthcare products such as CPR feedback sensors and biofeedback sensors. He pointed out that they have a high level of understanding of health care through experience.

Based on this technology development experience, RobotnMore holds 11 patents related to robots and healthcare, and is conducting continuous R&D through their own technology development research center.

RobotnMore’s advanced products can be used in facilities and public institutions for the elders and people with disabilities, and they are looking for business partners in this field. CEO Jeon predicted by saying, “I think it will be possible to spread it as part of social welfare projects through large distribution companies that are currently using kiosks and cultural centers operated by distribution companies.”

Sang-won Jeon, CEO of RobotnMore, said “We have differentiated ourselves from existing kiosk products through ‘Close-to-Life Contact-Free Leading Service Project’, and is preparing a new type of product that transforms and develops the mobility kiosk created through this project.”
