The Indian government has adopted electronic travel authorization, or e-Visa for India, allowing travelers from 180 countries to enter without physically stamping their passports.
Since 2014, visitors from outside India have not needed to obtain a traditional paper Indian visa in order to enter the country, saving them time and money. Instead, they can fill out an India Visa online application to obtain an India e-Visa. The Indian visa can now be purchased online rather than in person at an Indian embassy or consulate.
The e-Visa for India is not only the shortest way to visit India, but it is also the most straightforward way to apply for a visa online.
The India Visa Online application process is straightforward.
Step 1: Fill out an Indian Visa Application Form.
Step 2: Depending on your location, you can pay with a Credit Card, Debit Card, Cheque, Wallet, or Paypal in any of the 135 currencies.
Step 3: You give any other information that is requested.
Step 4: You obtain an electronic Indian visa via the internet (eVisa India).
Step 5: You depart for the airport.

Check that the photograph of your face fulfills the Government of India’s criteria. Images that are too bright, blurred, too dark, cut off, noisy, or hazy will be rejected, as will passport scan copies that are too light, blurred, too dark, cut off, noisy, or hazy.
A standard passport is required for an Indian e-Visa. To be eligible for an Indian e-Visa, you must upload an electronic or scanned copy of your passport, regardless of the type of e-Visa you are asking.
According to the Indian Visa Passport Requirements, this must be an ordinary or standard passport, not an official or diplomatic passport, a refugee passport, or any other sort of travel document. Before uploading a copy of your passport, make sure it is valid for at least 6 months from the date of your admittance into India. The Government of India has authorized this India Visa Passport Validity.

The following are the prerequisites for obtaining an Indian Online Visa:
Passports are good for six months. After you arrive in India, your passport should be valid for at least 6 months.
Evidence of financing The Indian government or border guards may ask for proof that you have enough money to stay in India. If you cannot offer this proof, you may be denied access.
If your passport does not have at least six months of validity from the date of entry into India, you must renew it before submitting your application. Examine your passport for two blank pages that are not displayed online but are required by airport border officers to stamp entry/exit.
If your Indian e-Visa is still valid, but your Passport is no longer valid, you can apply for a new Passport and travel with both. You can also apply for a new Indian visa using your new passport.
