Mogasu by Tejashree, a fashion label based out of Goa has announced the launch of its third collection – Fontainhas, inspired by the latin quarters of Goa. This collection features a range of quirky blockprinted sarees, each one handcrafted by artisans using the highest quality fabrics and traditional techniques.
The collection takes inspiration from the colorful streets of Fontainhas, with its narrow roads, vibrant and decorated houses. The sarees feature bold and fresh colors, intricate patterns and unique prints that evoke the spirit of Goa.
“We are excited to launch our third collection, which is a tribute to the nature and rich culture of Goa,” said Tejashree Sahakari, the founder of Mogasu. “We have worked closely with artisans to bring out this new collection of Goan sarees. Can’t wait to see our customers in these new sarees!”.
The collection has premium mul cotton, linen and Kota doria sarees with intricate patterns of native flowers such as bougainvillea and traditional crafts such as hand painted Azulejo tiles.
The sarees are available for purchase online on Mogasu’s website. With this launch, Mogasu continues to make its mark in the fashion industry by creating unique, blockprinted sarees inspired by Goa.
Mogasu – is a cute spin to the Konkani phrase – mog asu – which translates to let there be love. Mogasu aims to weave a fresh, contemporary twist into the traditional Indian crafts, to create a wide range of clothing. The prints are inspired by Goa, its beautiful people, food, and culture. Each garment is handcrafted by artisans from all around the country, a testament to their attention to detail, craftsmanship and their rich cultural heritage.
