Private Preview Performance of Disney’s Aladdin To Benefit Hebrew Charter Schools

The Hebrew Charter School Center (HCSC) will host Disney’s latest Broadway extravaganza, Aladdin, a new musical comedy, March 9, 2014 at the New Amsterdam Theater.

“Aladdin brings the classic story from the screen to the stage for a theatrical experience filled with laughs, adventure and of course, a classic love story,” says Sara Berman, Chair of HCSC. “This is a wonderful opportunity to bring families together to help support Hebrew Charter School Center and its mission.”

The show stars Adam Jacobs in the title role, with Courtney Reed as Jasmine; music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman, Tim Rice and Chad Beguelin; staged in the beautifully restored New Amsterdam Theatre. More than 1,600 people are expected to attend the benefit performance including “a veritable Who’s Who of the nation’s most successful and influential individuals – leaders in the worlds of real estate, hedge funds and venture capital, as well as entertainment, and media enterprises,” says Valerie Khaytina, HCSC’s head of strategic fundraising.

The show follows a hugely successful HCSC benefit performance of Matilda in 2013. “We had more than 1,200 people at Matilda,” says Berman, “and we are working hard to increase that number to 1,600 this year.” The Host Committee for Aladdin includes: Lisa Applebaum and George Haddad; Sara and David Berman; Rona and Fred Davis; Caroline and Spencer Greenwald; Olessia Kantor; Simone and David Levinson; Jessica and Jason Muss; Marti Meyerson and Jamie Hooper; Roxanne and Dean Palin; Rebecca and Eddie Sugar; Ruth and Andrew Suzman; Meredith and Bryan Verona; and Caryn and Jeff Zucker.
