Regal Barbers Announces Grand Opening of The Newest Barbershop In Vancouver – For Men Who Expect & Demand Excellence

More than just another Barbershop, Regal Barbers represents a story of struggle, and overcoming all odds to become successful.

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, March 3, 2014, Sometimes life can take a cruel turn, and with the blink of an eye, turn joy into sadness. Amar Al-Khlil had established himself as a professional barber in his new country, and he was living a comfortable and rewarding life in False Creek. He worked hard and long hours for over three years at a seemingly well established Barbershop in downtown Vancouver. Amar had developed a clientele, a following.

Amar’s life started to crumble when he, along with a half dozen other barbers, were told to gather their tools only a mere hours before the shop closed its doors permanently. Years of hard work erased in a moment in time, clients cultivated to build a rapport…….all lost. There was no way for Amar to reach his clients, what a shame, what a waste. It was clear that he would have to start over from square one.

Amar explains that professional barbers work mainly for commissions, or they rent a chair in a Barbershop for a fixed price. Either way, their success is dependent on building a satisfied clientele book. The Barbers with the longest lists of customers are constantly sought-after by other Barbershops, while those just starting out, or with a short list, have a tough time earning a living. Even when a Barber gets a lucky break and finds a vacancy in a busy shop with many walk-ins he must be willing to accept lesser commissions because those shops usually charge lower rates.

Amar is not a man who is a follower, he is a leader. As an immigrant, he was well aware with being able to shift his focus to business opportunities, as opposed to finding a job. The fact that Amar was not savvy about financing, building permits, licenses, lease negotiations, taxes, etc., was not going to prevent him from seeking his dream. Just as life had dealt a devastating blow in the past, life had now dealt an angelic twist when Amar met with Angelo Khoshaba, a semi-retired businessman, and they agreed to work together and launch a new Vancouver Barbershop.

Regal Barbers is the result of five months of hard work, and a brand new Barbershop was launched on February 21, at 971 Hornby St., in downtown Vancouver. This is the place where discriminating men go for an authentic hair cutting experience, or a rejuvenating hot towel with a straight-razor shave from highly skilled professionals.
