Inspiring Untold Stories about Street Children of Ghana Finally Revealed

One Book that will Inspire, Motivate, and Shed Light on How to Survive and Persevere

Rochester, MN – April 30, 2015“Stories from the Streets… and Beyond” is a compilation of stories about the street children of Ghana served by Street Girls Aid Ghana. The inspirational success stories showcase what it is like to live in the heart of West Africa and how the individual’s resilience to survive helped transform them into contributing members of society. In order to produce, publish, and distribute the book, creators turned to the Kickstarter community for help. They launched a campaign to raise $8,350 by May 10th, 2015.

The untold stories of three incredible women, Betty, Ophelia, Comfort, will be finally heard. There will be other stories published as well recounting what it is like to go from a street child sleeping in open-air bathhouses and overcoming the commercial sex trade to become who they are today. The book describes the challenges faced and the impactful tale of what these women did to become professionals within their community. Now many actively employ other children that were once in their predicament to provide a future for them.

These published stories will give an intimate look at what drives these children to the streets, while giving hope to those living in poverty to know there is hope, a way to get out of it. Dozens of accounts have been collected over the past year. Now it is time to publish them and share it with the world!

The book is set to launch June 30th, which coincides with Street Girls Aid Ghana’s grand finale of their 20th anniversary legacy celebration, which means it must be in publication by June 1st. “Stories from the Streets… and Beyond” will be made available on Amazon.
