Becoming — A game that aims to portray mental illness realistically

SAVANNAH, Georgia – July 7, 2015 – Ever wondered what it really is like to have a mental illness? Well, Isaac Benjamin is creating a video game that aims to portray mental illness through a metaphysical and emotional story. It is called, “Becoming” and Isaac is creating it to expand awareness of what it’s like to struggle with mental illness, however in order to do that, Isaac needs help. That’s why he started a Kickstarter campaign. The goal of this project is to raise $60,000 by August 4, 2015, and the funds raised will go toward hiring, programming help, artists, voice actors and the music of the game.

The story will be the most important element of this game. Players will be able to follow the main character’s journey. They’ll explore why he is where he is, what has happened to him, and what is going to happen next. They will spend your time talking to other patients, participating in group sessions and one-on-one therapy sessions. The game’s story will not be limited to the Psych Ward; you will visit the places the main character dreams of, remembers, and fears.

To help bring this innovative game to life, please visit the Kickstarter campaign or click here. Perks will be delivered between September 2016 and August 2017.

Please keep in mind this is an “all-or-nothing” deal, which means if the campaign does not reach the funding goal then the project cannot move forward. So know that any amount given matters and this is an incredible opportunity to be a part of a special campaign! Help “Becoming” reach the goal by sharing this on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. The more people know about this the more support the campaign will receive.
