Kevin Harris, FAIA, Architect pulls back the curtain and shares his secrets for creating timeless homes in The Forever Home, How to work with an architect to design the home of your dreams. In his first solo book project, Harris provides readers the foundation to confidently explore their wants, plan their dream home, and find the right professionals to make it a reality. The book details Harris’ step-by-step process to design and build a house that fits so well it becomes a forever home.

The Forever Home will help readers determine when it makes sense to hire an architect; evaluate and assemble the design team and construction team; understand the residential construction process; use the Hierarchy of Design to make the most important decisions first; and recognize the pitfalls and avoid many common, but ill advised cost-saving measures.

“The Forever Home is a must have for anyone who is thinking about building a new home or renovating an existing one—it’s filled with sage advice and critical information that only comes with years of experience,” says James M. Crisp, AIA. Crisp is an Architect and co-author of On the Porch, Creating Your Place to Watch the World Go By.

Throughout the book, the process is brought to life through images captured by nationally renowned photographer, Chipper Hatter.

A launch, lecture and book signing will take place beginning at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Louisiana’s Old State Capitol, 100 North Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70801

The book is published by Advantage Media Group and can be ordered online through your local booksellers, Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
