Discus-throw champion needs her family in China to support her for the IAAF world Championship

Whitney J. Ashley is a Discus thrower from the USA team. She has won the prestigious title of NCAA Discus title in 2012 and became the first athlete from San Diego University to do that. She also finished as a runner up in USA outdoors in 2013. Ashley’s biggest support has been her family who has been there for her in all the efforts she made and witnessed all her achievements wherever she went whether it was winning a State Discus title in San Francisco, grabbing the title of NCAA in 2012 or giving trials in Eugene, Oregon for the Olympic team. Even in the IAAF World Championships in Russia in 2013, her family travelled all the way to Moscow to cheer her up. Family is the strength of any person and same goes for Ashley.

It lifts up her spirit to see her family in the crowd and encourages her to give her best. The IAAF World Championships are being held this year on August 22nd – 30th  in which Ashley will be representing her country and this time too she hopes to see her family stand by her side to support her. However, this might not be possible for her this time around due to financial constraints she’s facing and it’s difficult for her family to bear the cost of the air tickets and the trip as a whole.

Her family has sold yards and run fund raisers to collect money for the same but that’s still not enough. Ashley’s family has always been present to celebrate her big moments in life but the money problems is not letting this happen this time. The IAAF Championship in China is a very big opportunity for her to bring the gold for her country and she really needs her family to stand by her side.
