BOSTON, Massachusetts – July 24, 2015 – In Bahia, Brazil, José Moreira was born into a poverty-stricken, hostile environment. However, he had the incredible willpower to one day make it to the United States— and he did. Now more than 20 years later, José and a group of filmmakers want to take his journey from Bahia to America and make it into an international documentary called, “The Running Phantoms.” By telling his story, he hopes to inspire others young people in struggling communities to follow their dreams.
Based on his upcoming biography and short story, “Spock from the Dry Lands,” this film is José’s trajectory from the Dry Lands of Bahia, Brazil to the prosperous opportunity of the United States. It is a triumphant, international and contagious celebration of the power of dreams. However, before “The Running Phantoms” can be made, these filmmakers need help. That’s why they started this Kickstarter. The goal of this project is to raise $21,000 by August 6, 2015.
To help bring this documentary to life, please visit the Kickstarter campaign or click here. Perks will be delivered between September 2015 and February 2016.
Please keep in mind this is an “all-or-nothing” deal, which means if the campaign does not reach the funding goal then the project cannot move forward. So know that any amount given can make a difference, and this is an incredible opportunity to be a part of a special campaign! Help “The Running Phantoms” reach the goal by sharing this on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. The more people know about this, the more support the campaign will receive.
