10 Days In A Madhouse poster art revealed

“Caroline Barry plays Nellie Bly in 10 DAYS IN A MADHOUSE – THE NELLIE BLY STORY.”
Nellie Bly fans rejoice! Café Pictures is releasing their new poster for upcoming biopic 10 Days In A Madhouse.

Nellie Bly was a lot of things: the pioneer of investigative journalism, a champion for the underdog, an American hero… the list goes on and on. If you don’t know who this incredible woman is, you should, and you can get started by watching Café Picture’s upcoming film 10 Days In A Madhouse – The Nellie Bly Story, to be released in US theaters on November 20th.

The movie follows the true story of Nellie Bly as she is assigned the world’s first undercover assignment for Joseph Pulitzer, publisher of New York World. In 1887, Bly risked her life by feigning mental illness in order to get herself committed into the notorious Blackwell’s Island Insane Asylum for women, where she lived for ten days in inhumane conditions. She witnessed abuse, violence and even murder inside the mental hospital. After Bly was released, she exposed to the world what went on behind closed doors on Blackwell’s Island, and made sure that the so-called medical experts who were tormenting the women were brought to justice. She instantly became famous for her courageous work that saved countless lives and sparked the gender equality movement.

Today, the 10 Days In A Madhouse team is happy to show the world their new poster for the film. Director Timothy Hines says, “We’re very proud of the artwork created for this important movie. Many seasoned industry professionals were involved in hitting the right timber. Marc Bovee brought his 25 years of experience at Universal Studios to the table as did Shannon Gorman with 20 years under her belt at Fox Searchlight.”

The Official 10 Days In A Madhouse Movie Poster places Nellie Bly (Caroline Barry) shadowed by the bars of the mental ward atop her original newspaper stories exposing the atrocities in Blackwell’s asylum. A large padlock lock used to lock in the patients cuts through her writings. The picture of the courageous reporter is an exact replication of Bly’s singular famous portrait. The padlock is an actual padlock from Blackwell’s Island Lunatic Asylum for Women.

The articles behind Bly are authentic originals from The World newspaper and when you look closely you can read them.
