24-year old Wegert, the owner of Super Kicks Karate, started his career as an entrepreneur at the young age of 15.
“I was homeschooled. And when I finished high school early, my parents asked me what I wanted to do. I told them that I wanted to run a karate school. They said ‘great,’ it’s doing to take money. And so I had to raise it!”
The new book, to be co-authored with 21-year old Tim, explains their journey from running a martial arts academy in a small town, to expanding to a million-dollar business with locations in Charlotte, NC and Charlottesville, VA.
While sound business systems were key to Wegert’s success, he believes that his real secret was something else.
“Faith was the key,” he says. “Faith in God, faith that He had a plan for me, faith in myself and my abilities, and faith in my team, especially my family.”
Tim is not the only Wegert family member to be a part of Super Kicks Karate. Also involved are younger brother William, sister Abigail, and brother-in-law Miles. Sections of the upcoming book are dedicated to the family dynamic and atmosphere that is created from running a family-based business.
“Operating a business with family members isn’t the easiest thing in the world. In fact, there are probably a lot easier ways to do it. But there is nothing so rewarding as working alongside, and creating greatness in the community with the people that you love the most,” he explains.
The book will be released on Amazon Kindle format, as well as trade paperback.
