Actors Alliance of San Diego is pleased to announce they are accepting registrations for their new program, ATLAS (Advanced Training Leading Artists to Success). The program in conjunction with Theatre Bay Area in San Francisco gives aspiring actors, directors, and playwrights invaluable tools to develop their career plans.
The ATLAS program has helped hundreds of people since 2008 develop their career and go on a successful path. It has allowed theatre-makers to learn and improve their skills in time management, goal setting and financial matters, giving them the knowledge they need for a successful career. In 2013, the program offered its first round of training to playwrights, complementing existing programming for actors and directors. Each round typically contains 20-40 artists.
A spokesman for Actors Alliance of San Diego said: “The ATLAS program is designed to meet the needs of theatre artists wishing to advance in their careers regardless of where their “Point A” might be. In other words, this is intended for all artists: emerging and mid-career, as well as established artists looking for something new in their careers.”
Training sessions in previous incarnations of ATLAS have included:
• Personal Goal Setting
• Overview of the San Diego Area Theatre Scene
• Union Presentation
• Life as an Individual Artist
• All-Star Q & A
• Time Management/Connecting to What Motivates You
• Taxes for Individual Artists
• Peer Group Time
• Career Map Overview (includes SWOT analysis, personal mission/values statement, goals for the next year, financial plan and advisory board and mentor identification)
