ProCare Counseling – One Man’s Effort to End the Prescription Drug Epidemic, Could This Be the Answer?

Pro-active addiction counseling and opioid education to teach pain management patients how to take pain medication.

Atlanta, Georgia – May 23, 2016 – Myron Moorehead launched an IndieGoGo campaign to release nationwideProCare Counseling, the first pro-active addiction counseling and opioid education business in the entire United States.

The program was designed to give patient’s individualized Counseling and Opioid Education. Why is it So Difficult to Judge a Good Patient? Some Patients are at Greater Risk for misuse, abuse, diversion, or addiction than others, but Identifyingthese Patients can be a Complex Task because thereis No Clear Consensus on their Respective Definitions. On the Assumption that every patienthas a degree of risk….. aUniversal Precautions Approach is Suggested, beginning with a Thorough Risk Assessment for EveryPatient who is prescribed opioids for chronic pain.

The campaign goal is to raise $500,000 to allow ProCare Counseling to enter more states. The Company is turning to the community to help ProCare establish a National Footprint that will change the “Standard of Care” of pain management patients and end the epidemic of prescription drug abuse through education and counseling.

The Solution to any Epidemic Begins with Education….. And the Solution is Pro-Active AddictionCounseling and Opioid Education.

1 Person dies every 19 minutes on average from Prescription Drug Abuse, it’s the biggest man-made epidemic in the United States. It has quickly become a top public health concern, Prescription drug related deaths now outnumber those from heroin and cocaine combined, and drug overdose deaths exceed motor vehicle-related deaths.  The Prescription Drug Epidemic,if we do not reverse the current trend, where will it end? How many more must die? How many more lives and dreams must be shattered before we recognize the depth of this scourge?

The creator of ProCare says “You Must Educate Chronic Pain Management Patients to understand that a 100% of their pain is not relievable, nor is it realistic or attainable. The Patient must understand the true goals of pain management….which is to reduce pain, and most importantly, increase his/her quality of life. By providing them Education and Counseling, the patient will learn and attain more realistic goals, and how to live life as a Chronic pain Patient.”
