Directed Energy Invites the World to Participate in Voices of Humanity Kickstarter Campaign

Project will make history by beaming and launching personal data into space

Santa Barbara, California – July 25, 2016 – Founders of Directed Energy wants to make history by inviting everyone on Earth to participate directly in space exploration together through their project, Voices of Humanity. Personal messages, images, DNA, movies, audio recordings, and much more will be collected and transmitted into space via microchip and laser. A campaign was launched to raise $30,000 by September 6, 2016. Funds received will put the gathered data onto a custom spacecraft that will be launched into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) in 2017, and later to more distant missions. These subsequent missions will include the moon, Mars, and planets beyond. In the future, the company intends to offer the Humanity Chip to all spacecraft being launched.  

Voices of Humanity is the creation of a Santa Barbara-based team lead by UC Santa Barbara Physics Professor Philip Lubin, Ph.D. and Travis Brashears, an engineering physics major at UC Berkeley. The purpose of this project is to collect the dreams, visions, pictures, movies, digital DNA, and literal voices of the human race, place them on a Humanity Chip, download them onto their wafer scale spacecraft, and then launch them into a series of increasingly sophisticated missions into space. Also, the campaign offers a “Beam Me Up” mode to allow the data to be sent via laser to target the individual chooses.
