iSchool Initiative to Exhibit from Bus at the New Jersey School Board Association 2016 Workshop; Will Host Panel from Belvidere and Harmony School Districts

Atlanta, GA – iSchool Initiative today announced that it will be exhibiting at this year’s New Jersey School Board Association’s (NJSBA) Workshop. iSchool Advocate Program Manager, Tim Wright, will host a panel discussion at the event, which takes place October 25th and 26th at the Atlantic City Convention Center, New Jersey.

iSchool Initiative is a student focused organization dedicated to helping schools effectively implement technology and promote a culture of lifelong learning.

NJSBA Workshop 2016 is the largest professional development event for school leaders in New Jersey. The conference offers training, networking and events for the entire district team, including school board members, school business administrators, superintendents, school technology professionals, school facilities managers and staff, and curriculum professionals. The 2016 NJSBA Workshop provides educators with more professional development opportunities than any other education conference in the state.

“We’re excited to participate in the 2016 NJSBA Conference,” says Travis Allen, CEO and Founder of iSchool Initiative.  “New Jersey is one of those states where we’re seeing a lot of innovation. We’re currently working with districts in the area, and this is an opportunity for us to share our work with administrators attending the conference.”

iSchool Initiative is focused on education reform by helping schools embrace technology and create a philosophy that reinforces lifelong learning. Their programs are designed to create positive agents for change that help facilitate ongoing technology initiatives throughout the district while learning important STEM, leadership, and collaboration skills. From the Advocate program to the interactive program Escape the Bus, iSchool Initiative is guiding school districts through mobile technology integration by bringing students and teachers together to make the change.

From booth number 441, iSchool Initiative host their memorable “Escape the Bus” challenge again this year. Escape the Bus is an interactive game giving teams 30 minutes to “escape” the bus by encouraging team work, creativity and problem solving skills while using technology that defines the 21st century. There are no instructions, and everything from a 3-D printer to augmented reality is incorporated. During the NJSBA exhibit hours iSchool will host a group every hour to participate in Escape the Bus. Attendees interested in the Escape experience must first visit the booth to reserve a time slot.

In addition to their exhibit, Tim Wright will host an informative panel on Tuesday and Wednesday at 1pm that will feature district leaders, teachers, and students from Belvidere and Harmony school districts discussing their student and teacher leadership programs and the bright new future of technology integration in their classrooms. The discussion will cover details of the three-day iSchool Advocate training, the student-led technology initiatives that were created with the help of iSchool Initiative, and the impact the initiative has had on the community and students’ lives.

Allen continues, “Our goal is to expand our industry reach and enable more school systems to create a team-building experience, motivate natural leadership, and inspire action at the local school level. We want students involved and teachers to walk away asking “how do I do this in my classroom”.”

During the event, iSchool will also be providing attendees the opportunity to enter two giveaways sponsored in partnership with Promedia:  a free tour stop for a school to experience Escape the Bus, and the second giveaway is the three-day student leadership seminar which empowers students to model, inspire, and facilitate change through technology at the local school level.
