They offer excellent solutions for those needing dual diagnosis treatments. If you or a loved one is weighed down by an addiction, the best and safest thing to do is get clinical help immediately. Addictions tend to get worse—not better. Inpatient addiction treatment centers provide the intensive medications and therapies patients need to climb back on the right path.
The goal for patients is a happy, healthy, successful, and meaningful life. Without sobriety, none of these things are possible.
1. Care is offered around-the-clock. When a person first enters rehab, their addiction needs immediate attention. Detox is the first, and often most challenging, stage. Staff members help design a treatment plan that takes them all the way through rehab. Counseling and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) also play an important role in helping patients restructure their thinking and behavior. Outpatient programs are also provided, and while less intense, provide effective programs.
2. 12-step support groups help patients by providing daily therapy, and clients benefit from a great deal of peer support. They get to share, listen, and learn. 12-step programs are spiritual in nature. While they do not require a person to be a part of any particular religious group, the programs tenets can benefit everyone with an open mind, and who is willing to follow through from beginning to end.
3. Different lengths of rehab are offered, and can last 30, 60, or 90 days or longer. The goal is for the program to work. Programs will generally last for the length of time it takes for a person to get well. Some treatments can last up to a year or longer.
4. Some programs are lock-down in nature, with no outsiders being able to visit. Other programs allow patients to go return home at the end of the rehab session.
Upon evaluating programs, there are a number of things for patients and family members to consider.
• Consider the programs offered by the center and what clinicians have the experience and skills to treat. Some treatment centers special in the addictions they treat. Consider this as opposed to treatment centers that cover all addictions. Just keep in mind that success records, in either case, are an important measurement. Consider what type of medications and therapies are offered?
• Does the center offer treatment with respect to any specific individual or group? For example, does the center focus on providing services for men, women, or high-level executives? It may be wise to choose a center that caters to your demographic.
• Consider the center’s accommodations. While accommodations are not as important as their ability to treat patients, comfort is still important. People fare better when their surroundings are comfortable. Services should be commensurate with one’s ability to afford them. Luxury rehab may offer equine therapy, golf, spa treatments, and other such amenities.
• Outpatient treatment programs allow patients to maintain an active work and family lie presence. For many, there is a need to break free of addiction along with a need to maintain a normal lifestyle.
• Ask about the program cost, and consider options for paying for your program. Many centers work hard to help patients find the financial means to pay for their services.
Get the help you or a loved one needs. A life is a terrible thing to waste.
