Boat ride in Labadee, Haiti
NEW YORK – Feb. 13, 2017 – UC Adventures is a new travel company launched in January that provides customized, small group packages that immerse travelers in the local culture of Haiti.
Engaging, educational, and heavy on experiences, the adventures include a guided tour of Citadelle Laferriere, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and other heritage sites. But then, participants will go further in experiencing the culture by learning to cook Haitian staple food, taking art classes, engaging in mutually respectful interactions with the local people and enjoying some light physical activities such as paddle boarding and snorkeling.
These small-group packages will at first take place in the historical city of Cap-Haitien and in the northern region, where the World Heritage Sites are located including the largest fortress in the Americas, with plans to expand to other parts of the country and possibly to the nearby Dominican Republic and Cuba.
Unlike other companies providing travel packages in Haiti, UC Adventures was founded by Haitian-American, Hudjy Dolce, who brings an in-depth knowledge of the country that only a native can. Dolce is passionate about Haiti’s culture and sharing it with others, and has assembled a team that is committed to creating off-the-beaten path and memorable travel packages with an emphasis on responsible travel.
