Sacramento Republic FC Soccer partners up with Local Little Leagues to let them play Baseball on their Soccer Field at Cal Expo, Papa Murphy’s Park.

SACRAMENTO, CA – 23 Mar, 2017 – June 4, 2017 starting at 9:30am at Cal Expo Fair Grounds, Papa Murphy’s Park.  Sacramento Republic FC will host the first Little League Section Wide Challenger game for intellectual and physical challenged Baseball Players. The night before (June 3) Sacramento Republic FC will recognize the Little League Players and Team Buddies at their Home game, while the Little Leaguers enjoy the experience of a professional soccer game.

The next day (June 4) Up to 80 Little League Challenger Players & their Buddies from California Section 4 Little Leagues, that range from Sacramento Metro to the Sierra Foothills and surrounding communities will play a Baseball Game. Little League District 54 is currently raising funds to purchase 250 tickets for Challenger Players and their Buddies for the June 3rd game. Little League Challenger Program (Intellectual and Physical Challenged Players) will have a Special Game on the Soccer field at Cal Expo, Papa Murphy’s Park. This will benefit the youth in the community and let the kids see a professional soccer game.

Little League Challenger Program is for Youth with intellectual and physical challenges, ages 4 and up, to enjoy the game of baseball along with the millions of other children who participate in this sport worldwide.  Little League provides Baseball, Challenger, and Softball Programs, and is a non-profit volunteer organization, serving the youth in the community

 “Baseball on a Soccer Field, who would think this could happen.” Per Bob Fogle Little League 54 District Administrator “The opportunity to see a Soccer game, Play Baseball on a Soccer Field will make memories for a life time, that’s what Youth Sports in the community is about.”

Available parking for fans attending the Challenger game, are Lots A, which are located west and north of the soccer field at the Cal Expo. Parking in Lots A will only be open for this event at no charge.
