Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA4)

Cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4), also known as CD152, is a kind of leukocyte differentiation antigen. It is a transmembrane receptor on T cell, sharing B7 molecular ligands with CD28, whereas CTLA-4 binds to B7 molecules to induce T cells, participating in negative regulation of the immune response. The recombinant CTLA-4 Ig can effectively and specifically inhibit the cellular and humoral immune responses in vitro and in vivo, and has a significant therapeutic effect on transplant rejection and various autoimmune diseases with very low side effects. It is considered to be hope for new immunosuppressive drugs.

Program cell death-1 (PDCD-1) molecule is an important down-regulation type costimulatory factor, playing an immunosuppressive function through the role of its ligand, mainly involved in the central and peripheral immune resistance. It is very important in autoimmune diseases.
