Pious Projects of America adds an innovative twist to its relief program for victims of Hurricane Harvey

Local Muslim crowdfunding charitable organization, Pious Projects of America, aims to bring fast relief to Hurricane Harvey victims with support from Islamic schools, Islamic organizations, and Mosques of Chicago

Local crowdfunding charitable organization in Bridgeview, Illinois, Pious Projects of America is making efforts to support Hurricane Harvey victims, gathering support from other Islamic institutions such as schools, Islamic organizations, and Mosques of Chicago. The aim of the organization is to gather support from other institutions with the donation of money and supplies to help victims of disaster.

Over the years, the organization has worked with volunteers and donors to bring relief to persons who have been devastated by emergencies in the United States of America and abroad. As part of the institution’s focus on helping families affected by emergency situations and in line with the fundamental requirement of Islam to help the needy, Pious Projects launched the relief campaign to collect and send supplies that include food, clothing and other such items to Texas.

Hurricane Harvey rocked Texas, causing extensive damage and disrupting lives in the process. Pious Projects took the situation with utmost priority and with support from other institutions in Chicago, collected more than $20,000 as well as items donated by other local organizations. The money and items were subsequently sent to Texas to bring relief to victims of the hurricane.

Pious Projects of America is adding a new and innovative twist to the program, which allows everyone to donate, follow, and track the donations by launching a trucking site. The organization currently has two trucks loaded with supplies such as diapers, wipes, regular box mattresses, air mattresses, new blankets, new pillows, water bottles, school supplies and backpacks heading for the mosque in Beaumont, Texas. The truckloads that also include an encouraging note inside from Muslim students in Chicago are scheduled to arrive on Sunday September 17th.

The launch of the tracking site – www.piousprojects.org/track, allows anyone from across the globe to monitor the movement of the trucks, as it shows the exact location of the truck at any given time. It also allows donors to the truck arrive in Texas.

The truck scheduled to arrive in Beaumont, Texas on Sunday, September 17th and the distribution takes places at the Beaumont Mosque between 1 and 4pm while supplies last. Volunteers and any Texan in need of supplies are welcomed to Beaumont Mosque located at 1270 W Cardinal Dr, Beaumont, TX 77705.
