Honey G to Become X-Factor Judge

Former X-Factor contestant and rapper Honey G returns to the show as a judge. She appeared in the thirteenth series of the U.K version getting a record deal after finishing fifth on the show. Honey G would be replacing former judge Nicole Scherzinger.

The controversial performer Honey G returns to the platform which exposed her to the world, as a judge this time. Honey G who finished fifth place and was signed to Syco music has been in the industry making waves as a rapper.  The matured 36 year old rapper from Harrow, North West London called “North Weezy” by her character. As a Salford University graduate of popular music she has used her experience in promoting her music and developing different styles for the rap genre. She has grown up around music the whole of her life, coming from a musical family with her Mother being a pianist, she grew up with the piano and guitar, playing songs such as George Michael on the Piano to rapping the Snoop Dog Doggystyle album. So, when all the kids were in the playground playing hop scotch, Honey was busy rapping or playing the piano or guitar. Her years as a young girl, then teenager were also spent listening to blues, rock n roll and jive music.

Her first single “The Honey G Show” which was released on December 23rd 2016, and shot straight to no 7 on the iTunes chart, the video on VEVO was trending no 1 at one point. On 26 July she embraced her sexuality and came out as gay to the world and supported that with a nude photoshoot. The announcement of her replacing Nicole as a judge was a shock to x-factor fans as this would give rise to controversy but in an interview with Metro.co.uk at the Attitude Awards on Thursday night, Honey G said she felt ‘overwhelmed’ by the affection she received after coming out. ‘The article broke the internet and I was trending on Twitter at number four at one point,’

As she appears on the show, as a judge all eyes would be on her examining her decisions and following every move she makes. As a music graduate she would use her knowledge of the music world in helping contestants develop their skills effectively, pass a message across to the world through their music and also direct them on how to handle the pressures that come with fame and how to as people would be looking for a way to discredit her as a judge.

The fourteenth season of the x-factor is sure going to be fun with Honey G being on the seat. As always, the X-Factor is an amazing show to watch and having Honey G back is like an icing on a cake.

She has recently been recording in the world famous Metropolis Recording studios where she is writing her album and working with engineers that have worked with some of the biggest names in the business such as Liam Nolan- Grammy Award Winner, Paul Norris and Mazen Murad.
