Star Volleyball Player Logan Clark to Join Division 1 College Men’s Volleyball at the University of California – San Diego

Logan Clark, a young star and volleyball player for Coast Volleyball Club, Chula Vista, California, has reached a landmark career point. Logan has committed to play Division 1 College volleyball at the University of California – San Diego (UCSD).

Logan has craved for competitive environments since his early days, when an unfortunate injury interrupted his dream of playing professional soccer. Logan quickly switched over to volleyball to preserve and develop his passion for sports. Logan Davis Clark has attended Otay Ranch High School in Chula Vista, CA, with a 4.0 Grade Point Average, and will graduate with Honors in June 2018 with a Dual Language High School Diploma (Spanish).

“More than the honor of awards and the glory of personal recognition, I can now appreciate what soccer and volleyball have taught me about myself. My volleyball experience has also taught me to enjoy intense preparation and how to work with a team toward a common goal. I have also learned to remain positive and persistent amid the disappointments that come with competition,” says Logan.

The choice of UCSD Division 1 came naturally to Logan, since it offered a chance to play with the very best players in the country. Other factors included a special coaching staff as well as teammates that Logan admires, and the academic reputation of UCSD.

Logan has keenly appreciated the lessons that sports teaches, and has applied them in the classroom as well. With no Spanish speaker at home, Logan has taken personal responsibility for academic success in a language he has been learning since kindergarten.

“I look forward to preparing each day to play Division I Volleyball for a school with high academic standards and an athletic program with a proven track record of success.

Some of the past achievements of Logan include: 3 Year Boys Volleyball Captain (@OtayRanchVBall); Coordinator – Spanish Tutoring Program for Elementary Schools; Member of the Coast Volleyball Club; 16- 2’s Team that played in the 2016 Junior National Club Division in Dallas, Texas, and 17-1’s Team played in the 2017 Junior National Open Division in Columbus, Ohio, finishing sixth. The Coast 18-1’s Team is currently ranked in the top five and will play at the Junior National Open Division in Phoenix in July 2018.

Logan personally wishes to thank the following for his success and achievements: teachers, high school coaches (Jesse, Nick and Mike), teammates and the late Principal Jose Brosz of Otay Ranch High School; Coast Coaches Ted Summers-Torres, Andrew Freiha, Bowie Haug and Darrell Dilmore of Coast Volleyball; and UCSD Men’s Volleyball Head Coach Kevin Ring for such a great opportunity.
