Robin Towle, the current Mrs. Utah, is leaving no stone unturned in her quest to prevent teen suicide. She is helping parents and teachers to make a difference in the lives of teens.

Salt Lake City, UTAH – Robin Towle, the new Mrs. Utah, is working hard to find ways to help prevent teen suicides. She hopes to become Mrs. America in August and expand her efforts nation-wide.

She was invited to be present when Utah Governor Gary Herbert recently signed 11 bills into law, all dealing with suicide prevention. She is a big supporter of the creation of the Safe Utah smart phone app, which gives youth and their parents 24/7 access to licensed clinicians. It also provides a way to anonymously report bullying, and someone who might be planning to harm themselves or others.

“I urge all parents to make sure their kids have this app. It could save their life, or someone else’s life,” said Towle. She was also invited to be part of the Utah Suicide Prevention Coalition.

“So many people are hearing this call, so changes for the better are bound to happen,” she said.

Towle also created a non-profit called SignWolfpact. She is preparing to have at least one active chapter operating at a local high school by the start of the next school year.

“This is a beautiful program that teaches positive self-talk, mindfulness, self-awareness, inclusion, gratitude, resilience, core values, kindness, service, and gratitude. It is taught through outdoor activities and service projects. It is available for schools, community groups, and churches. The most beautiful part is that it can be started by parents, and teachers who want to make a difference. They get to actually engage with their youth and can help foster environments for healthy relationships in a fun environment,” Towle explained.

Towle, who is an actress, has written a faith-based short film to promote inclusion and kindness that she says kids so desperately need. She is currently seeking investors to get the film made.

Towle will compete in the Mrs. America Pageant in August, and if she wins she plans to travel with her husband and six children to expand teen suicide prevention nation-wide. She can be found on Facebook and on Instagram.
