May 28th, 2018 – New York, NY – The Medixi group which was formed in 2016, borne out of the idea to use knowledge and resources at their disposal to expose talent to the world (similar to 15th century Medici dynasty that exposed talent in The Renaissance period), held their first Charity Week this May, in order to achieve the prime objective of the Music Group.

The Charity Week held on 11th, 12th and 15th of May respectively, in a partnership with DREAM Club to hold a workshop for 50 students and educate them on freestyle rap, song writing, production, and music business, also a performance at Bronx Children’s Hospital for 50 patients, and rounded off with a workshop at St. Brigid School, a Catholic elementary school in Manhattan, to educate 50 students on freestyle rap, song writing, production, and music business.

The Charity Week was organized by two of Medixi’s artists — Young Ly & Ray.B, in order to give back to the community that has afforded them a platform for their musical efforts. After two years of existence as a group, Young Ly and Ray.B decided the time was appropriate to do a Charity Week to give back to the community that fostered their dreams and talent, and to show children that through education, they can also achieve what most believe is impossible.

Kelly Ortiz, a teacher at St. Brigid gave her review about the workshop, “The workshop was wonderful and a great way to give back to the community in an inspiring way! The students definitely can use these tools in all aspects of their life. I’d also love to share this question from one of the 5th graders as he was passing me in the hallway today “Is Medixi coming back?” I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Medixi and how many people, of all ages, will be asking that same question as they continue to give back through workshops and music.”

About Medixi

Medixi LLC is a two-year old creative entertainment incubator that fosters upcoming artists. The group is made up of 5 artists and features in coaching with audio-visual productions, vocal training, music engineering, songwriting, and personal brand development. The group also organizes Charity Weeks throughout the year in order to give back to the community and help individuals explore their artistic talents.

The group was inspired by the banking and political dynasty in the 15th Century “Medici” — similar to how the House of Medici used knowledge and resources to expose artists to the public during “The Renaissance.” Since Young Ly and Ray.B had the hip hop genre covered, they sought to manage talents in other genres. They found and are developing RnB artist, Shaina Rae Sanchez, EDM artist Sxryn, and Universal Pop artist Blvkbird. In just two years time they were able to achieve the following accolades: Booked for SUNY Albany’s “Block Party” concert for 2,500 students, amassed over 2 million streams over all platforms including Spotify, Soundcloud, and YouTube, opened for trap rap pioneer Chief Keef at The Chance Theatre, sold out headliner at The Bowery Electric, NYC, opened for Billboard charting Reggae artist Serani, headlined at historic NYC venue SOBs in front of 350 of their superfans, received sponsorship from the New York Performing Arts Academy, and collaborated on their latest track “Yo Mama” with multiplatinum producer Cameron “Chef” Pasquale, whom is also credited on “KMT” by Drake and “Issues” by PnB Rock ft. Russ. Now, they are focused on doing a 500 to 700 person show in NYC and then doing an East Coast tour starting in Miami, Florida.
