Every year, thousands of people gather at dozens of vintage car races to watch their favorite cars from yesteryear compete for the title, cheer on their favorite driver, or to drive a car in one of the most thrilling auto events imaginable. Most of these vintage racers are amateur drivers who have lovingly restored their car personally. A new television show called Vintage Racer will explore this little known sport of vintage car racing.
Vintage Racer will be unlike any other auto show on television; the creators would like to shine a spotlight on the people who restore these vintage automobiles and what compels them to engage in such a challenging competition. In addition to featuring the human interest stories, Vintage Racer will examine each of these vehicles, their histories, and the restoration process that prepared them for the racetrack. For the first time on television, viewers will be able to share in the exciting activity of vintage car racing itself.
Produced by Mark Mcilyar, a longtime vintage car racer and aficionado, Vintage Racer will satisfy the curiosity of car lovers everywhere, as well as inspire interest from people who know little about building a car. Vintage Racer is still in development and Mark would like to invite auto racing fans, vintage car enthusiast, and lovers of great television to help support this project by contributing to his crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. If the campaign goal of $25,000 is reached, Mark and the Vintage Racer team will be able to produce a high quality sizzle reel which will help win a broadcast contract with a television network. If more than that is raised, the team can produce several pilot episodes to show to TV executives.
In return for financially supporting this project, you will receive perks like DVDs, hats, show credits, associate or executive producer titles, or a ride in a vintage race car.
