The customers will be able to find outfits inspired by the latest trends and styles.
Maiya Boutique was established on October 5th, 2013 and since then it is continuously growing and increasing their number of clients in New Orleans and surrounding areas. The name Maiya is inspired from Shannel’s husband-William Schick’s mother, Thais Schick aka Maiya. She was known as a sassy, strong and beautiful blue-eyed woman. Thais was called Ma Mere which is French for grandmother but over the time the pronunciation slightly changed to Ma Maiya then shortened to just ‘Maiya’, hence the inspiration for the Boutique name. Another meaning of the word Maiya as per the urban dictionary is ‘A beautiful and attractive girl who’s talented and smart. Has captivating eyes and a voice as sweet as a melody’.
Amber Murphy completed her graduation in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Mississippi and went on to pursue a career in sports news. Although it was a great field, she realized that her love and passion lie in the Fashion industry. At the age of 22, he partnered with Shannel Abadie and together they started the Maiya Boutique. Shannel Abadie, on the other hand, has an experience of over 20 years in the fashion industry working in the fields of fashion management, marketing, sales, and training businesses around the world. She has owned clothing and shoe Boutiques and Maiya Boutique is her latest venture.
With the launch of their website shopmaiya.com, the founders will be able to reach more customers and expand their business further.
