Independent model Breona Wilson has just announced the launch of her new “Just the Way You Are” campaign, which will work to help people feel comfortable in their skin by way of photography and fashion that hinges on natural beauty.
Being a petite model and fashion enthusiast herself, Wilson has worked in the modeling industry for years. She’s seen the expectations and the struggles, and she knows how Photoshop leaves many with an unrealistic view of the body.
Now, she’s using her talents to bring a change to the fashion industry and promote natural body beauty.
The “Just the Way You Are Campaign” aims to change modern beauty standards with photography and video that will inspire change in women one shoot at a time.
Wilson has launched her campaign on Indiegogo, and as such, the world is getting a first glimpse at this powerful new series of shoots and videos. As the #NaturalBodyBeauty movement grows, the effort will become a more large-scale operation with various diverse models. Eventually, Wilson hopes to create a magazine inspired by the movement.
In a world where aesthetics are seen through the lens of highly edited imagery and video, Wilson hopes to paint a more accurate picture of real beauty.
Right now, anyone wishing to back the project can visit the IndieGoGo page and do so. Backers will receive perks including a thank you e-mail, a chat with Wilson, a signed print, and even the chance to design a shoot.
