“Kira Reed Lorsch as Morgan in \”Acts of Desperation\””
The film, also starring Paul Sorvino and Vince Lozano, is now available

Emmy Winner Kira Reed Lorsch, best known for her role on the hit series “The Bay”, stars in the new feature film “Acts of Desperation”.

The actress, whose other credits include “NYPD Blue” and “Beverly Hills 90210”, appears opposite Paul Sorvino, Jason Gedrick and “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor Vince Lozano in the thriller, which is now available on VOD and DVD.

In it, a desperate cop on the edge is obsessed over the fact that his beautiful but frantic wife is having an affair. At the same time, he tracks a desperately shrewd bank robber who is falling in love with a desperately obsessed woman whose life he just saved from suicide. As if that’s not enough, he is also being blackmailed by two desperately unhinged street criminals who will stop at nothing to get their money. Time is running out for all of them as their worlds collide.

The film is directed by Richard Friedman, a cult favorite filmmaker whose past credits include “Street Knight” with Jeff Speakman and “Halfway to Hell”.

“I loved working with Richard Friedman”, the actress told Medium.com in a recent interview. “He was no nonsense with a clear vision of who these characters are. He said something so telling about Morgan: that she can never be still because she is so uncomfortable in her skin. I used that as a simple touchstone in the filming process. He let us actors do our thing to bring them to life. It always amazes me how magic happens when making movies. Richard informed me one scene was somehow mysteriously lost and had to be re-shot. At first I was annoyed about it. Then I realized it was an opportunity to try something different. My main acting partner in the film, an astonishingly brave and believable Treva Etienne, and I gave it a go another way. Everyone agreed it better conveyed our characters’ oddball attraction the second time around. It takes the right people coming together at the right time to share truth in the moment and capture it. I don’t think anyone knew how our characters’ relationships would intertwine and evolve. But that’s the fun and the magic.”

“Acts of Desperation” is now available.
