Born I Music is embarking on a journey into a new world of art, music and performance to be splashed across the world soon. The DC-based musician, performer, and meditation teacher has announced the most creatively ambitious work of his lifetime – the performance art project, Mundi. A unique fusion of diverse artistic genres, including debut EP ‘Salvator Mundi’, Project Mundi is a remaking of EDM with rap, a presentation of the Divine and mankind as one, and a deconstruction of social boundaries that are keeping the world in conflict and in disarray.
Although immensely productive, Born I Music has until now stayed away from fame. He has released over 300 singles in his career, and lent his name to 60 hip-hop and EDM releases in the past two years alone. Among more notable works are his performances in Bassnectar’s ‘I’m Up’ (2017), Arius’ ‘Rise’ and ‘Third Eye’, and Spag Heddy’s ‘Gospel’ (2018). Even before this, he has worked for labels such as Dim Mak, Never Say Die, Circus, Disciple and Firepower. Top this with his music video of ‘Supreme Mathematics’ appearing on Revolt TV and co-signed by Diddy, and a voice over for cartoon show, Ollie & Moon.
More recognition has come to Born from his single ‘Lambs and Lions’, which featured in the opening sequence of Episode 2 in the current season of ‘Power’ telecast on Starz Network. The singles series, ‘Game of Thrones’ is now nearing 1 million collective plays on Soundcloud. Among his other upcoming works are the singles series, ‘Winter is Coming’, a collaboration with several EDM producers and DJs, and EP with EDM producer Luzcid entitled ‘Wings’.
No wonder there is every reason today to get to know Born I Music. His music releases the vibes of meditation, and EDM jams with rap in a first-of-its-kind artistic endeavor. So much so that he was invited to a UN Conference to talk about Buddhist meditation and rap music. His prolific yet underplayed stream of creativity has even attracted the attention of Puff Daddy, and Beyonce’s twin dancers Les Twins have danced to his song, ‘Hell No’ at the Apollo Theater in Harlem.
A true Renaissance style artist, Born carries multiple talents as a lyricist, poet, fashion designer, rapper, EDM artist, father, philosopher and a 360-degree performance artist. He has practiced meditation under spiritual masters such as Bhate Buddharakitta, the well know Ugandan master of Vipassana Buddhism. He has learned to combine aspects of music, clothing and world religions into an identity that is truly his own – a form of Synchronism. And he has taught mindfulness and meditation at retreats across the US, performed at large music festivals, and mentored the youth. The name ‘Born I Music’ is a statement, evolving from the earlier brand, ‘Born Infinite’.
Project Mundi will be the ultimate expression of a variety of artistic genres. On offer are cross-genre productions as diverse as installations, multi-media assets, social media campaigns, a brand new BornImusic.com website, brand activations, secret performances, gallery events with other artists, Merch and more. The Project will tell Born’s own story in parallel with that of Jesus the Savior, and will feature productions by Arius, Spag Heddy, Luzcid, Dirt Monkey, Anoxex and Arlen Bahiti. Also included is a full sampling of Bassnectar’s ‘Journey to the Center of the Earth’.
With Mundi, for the first time, Born I Music is putting together his fundamental beliefs in freedom, power, love and introspection. Project Mundi will be the fulfillment of his lifelong journey exploring and bringing together the many dimensions of art, music, mediation and more.
#mundiworld is going to be all of this and more. The audience will be exposed to a new rhythm of life derived from dubstep, trap and future bass, the intensity of head banging rap, along with mindful meditations, and a reawakening of God and mankind as one, symbolized by the opening of the eye of the Buddha.
The countdown for entering the Mundi World has begun. Like the famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci, Mundi will be a piece of contemporary art that will outlive its age, and everyone is invited.
