In the spring of 2009, Dr. Robert Cutchen, a board-certified physician, brought Albuquerque Vein & Laser Institute, a dedicated vein clinic, to life. For the past 10 years, Dr. Cutchen has been providing patients with the most advanced diagnostics and treatment for their vein disease. His treatments do not require any hospitalization or extensive downtime and strive to help patients improve the appearance of their painful varicose veins and unsightly spider veins so that they can feel more confident in their own skin.
“I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since we opened our doors and saw our first patient. We have treated patients from all over New Mexico, Arizona, southern Colorado, west Texas, and even a couple patients from Kansas and Illinois who traveled all this way just to see us. We have seen great outcomes with our patients and feel like our future is bright,” says Dr. Cutchen.
Dr. Cutchen has earned a reputation as a pioneer in the vein industry and is always on the lookout for the latest state-of-the-art technology and ways to advance his skills. In addition to being Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and a Diplomat of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, Dr. Cutchen has pursued additional certifications as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS), a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), and a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). With these credentials, he has the skills and knowledge to perform vascular ultrasound in the diagnosis of vein disease and accurately interpret the test results to determine the ideal treatment protocol.
Dr. Cutchen also uses the Thermalite 1470nm laser to perform Endovenous Laser Ablation, which offers the very best results with less pain than any other laser system on the market. It is designed to close varicose veins that were previously treated with vein stripping. To use this laser, he inserts a small laser fiber into the vein via one tiny incision. The procedure is completed in about 45 minutes and allows patients to resume their daily activities right away.
“We look forward to meeting more New Mexicans who needlessly endure painful varicose veins, unsightly spider veins, and other issues to help them give new life to their legs,” says Dr. Clutchen.
