25Cab launches a peer to peer ridesharing platform allowing drivers to set their own prices and get paid directly

25Cab is a peer to peer ridesharing app and mobile website available on both iOS and Android that allows the cab drivers and customers to connect directly without any third-party interference. It overcomes the shortcomings of the traditional ridesharing apps that charge excessively to their customers, while subsequently charging huge commissions to the drivers.

25Cab app is here to change all that by providing a comprehensive platform that enables the drivers to set their own prices and get paid directly from the customers. The platform will charge a minimal monthly fee from the drivers while it will be completely free for the customers to use. However, drivers can use the app free for the first 8 months of driving.

Blake Turner, the founder of 25Cab developed this platform to bring a fair ridesharing app to the people. He says, “I felt the existing rideshare platforms were taking advantage of drivers and overcharging passengers. Due to the fact of basic human decency, as revealed by the sharing economy and the historical operation of taxis, we knew that we could provide a safe, less expensive, fair peer to peer alternative.

The 25Cab drivers will be able to set their own prices and accept multiple forms of direct payment. Unlike the regular ridesharing apps, 25Cab does not process payments or take a commission from the driver’s earnings. The passengers won’t be paying anything for using the app and all of their payment will be transferred directly to the driver. They can choose their own driver and tune their ride preferences with 25Cab, by providing feedback such as favorite, rate, review and blacklist drivers.

To maintain safety and security on the platform, 25Cab requires credit card numbers and ID photos to validate user identities while the drivers are reviewed and their profile is not editable. 25Cab app records all driver activity and saves it indefinitely. All the rides with 25Cab are documented and the driver’s identity is linked to it. Also, like some of the other apps, 25Cab never shares its user’s information with any third-party applications or website.

25Cab app is first introduced on Kickstarter and currently seeking funding for its marketing and distribution worldwide. It has been tested, publicly available and operational for over a year.
