Hangzhou to further develop digital agriculture

Authorities in Hangzhou, capital city of East China’s Zhejiang province, released a three-year action plan on the cultivation and development of digital agriculture last Wednesday.

Zhejiang province has in recent years carried out a series of digital reform measures to improve people’s lives. The three-year action plan is part of efforts to help Zhejiang to become a demonstration zone for common prosperity.

According to the plan, Hangzhou will focus on the construction of digital agriculture in three areas – digital farming, digital fishery and digital pasture – by integrating cutting-edge agricultural digital technologies such as big data, blockchain, 5G and artificial intelligence.

By the end of 2024, the city aims to put in place more than 10 comprehensive demonstration future farms and more than 30 characteristic future farms featuring planting, animal husbandry and fishery as the key industries.
