Austin card shows gain popularity in June 2026 as the trading card hobby grows

The trading card hobby continues to grow in 2026, with PSA grading over two million cards in May and Pokémon products selling out in stores. Card Groove lists eight Austin card shows in June, reflecting the trend.

The trading card hobby continued to grow through the first half of 2026, with rising card grading volume, sustained demand for Pokémon products, and a busy schedule of local events. The trend is visible in Austin, Texas, where eight card shows are scheduled across the metro area in June, alongside a growing number of recurring weekly gatherings. Card Groove, an online directory of local trading card shows, compiled the schedule and tracks similar activity across the markets it covers.

The scale of collector demand is reflected in recent grading figures. According to data published by GemRate, PSA graded about 2.07 million cards in May 2026, an increase of roughly 25 percent year over year, while the industry graded close to 2.95 million cards across all companies. Demand has grown to the point that PSA has temporarily paused new submissions for its four lowest-cost Value tiers, effective June 2, 2026, citing a backlog of nearly 10 million cards. Trading card games (TCGs) such as Pokémon, One Piece, and Magic: The Gathering have surged in popularity, and the rise in TCG submissions has contributed to this growth.

Demand has been especially visible in the Pokemon market, where new products have been difficult to find on store shelves. Retailers have reported selling out quickly, and collectors have formed lines ahead of store openings when restocks are expected. The shortage has pushed many collectors toward in-person card shows as an alternative source for both sealed product and single cards.

Card shows provide a setting where collectors can buy, sell, and trade in person. The following card shows are scheduled in the Austin metro area in June 2026:

  • Legacy Card Show — June 6 at the Courtyard by Marriott, Austin. Free admission.

  • Mom and Pop Card Show, South Austin — June 7 at Ants Beer Cave, Austin. Five-dollar admission.

  • Austin Card Show — June 12 to 14 at the Palmer Events Center, Austin. A three-day show with more than 400 tables; ten-dollar admission.

  • Bat City Card Show — June 13 at Kenny’s Collectibles, Austin. Free admission.

  • Mom and Pop Card Show, Cedar Park — June 14 at The Fieldhouse at The Crossover, Leander. Five-dollar admission.

  • Home Town Card Show — June 20 at Red Horn Coffee and Brewery, Leander. Free admission, with more than 20 tables.

  • Home Town Card Show — June 21 at VFW Post 8787, Austin. Free admission, with more than 50 tables.

  • ATX Card Show — June 27 and 28 at the Hilton Austin, Austin. A two-day show with more than 300 tables; ten-dollar admission.

Recurring weekly events have also expanded. Craigo’s Card Show, hosted by Lakeway Card Show, runs every Tuesday at Craigo’s Sunset Valley in South Austin and every Thursday at Craigo’s Pizza & Pastaria in Lakeway, both from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with free admission, covering Pokémon, One Piece, and sports cards. Local card shops have added regular trade nights as well, including Card Gurus Comics and Collectibles in Pflugerville and a weekly Saturday trade night from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Card Traders of Austin on Spicewood Springs Road. These recurring sessions give collectors midweek and weekend options between the larger monthly shows.

Attendees at Austin shows typically find vintage and modern cards, singles, sealed products, and professionally graded cards, with most shows featuring dedicated Pokémon tables alongside sports card vendors.

“Interest in the hobby has grown steadily this year, and that is showing up in how many shows are running locally,” said Kevin Jones of Card Groove. “When products are hard to find in stores, shows give collectors a place to buy, sell, and trade in person.”

45 Years of Hilton’s: Founder Shawn Hilton Marks Nearly Half a Century Protecting Carlisle and Central PA Businesses

From a 1965 Dodge van and a teenage locksmith in 1981 to a modern electronic security firm serving commercial and residential clients across Central Pennsylvania, Hilton’s Electronic Security celebrates a 45-year milestone.

Hilton’s Electronic Security, the Carlisle-based commercial and residential security provider, is marking 45 years in business in 2026. Founded in November 1981 by Shawn Hilton at the age of 17, the company has grown from a one-person locksmithing operation into one of Central Pennsylvania’s longest-standing electronic security firms, serving businesses, schools, healthcare facilities, government buildings, and homeowners across the region.

In its earliest days, the company operated out of a robin-egg blue 1965 Dodge van with hand-stenciled red and yellow lettering, a vehicle that became a familiar sight on Carlisle streets. Shawn Hilton spent those first years driving the van around Cumberland County offering rekeying, master keying, key cutting, emergency lockouts, and deadbolt installations, building a reputation one customer at a time.

“I was 17 years old with a van, a set of tools, and a phone number painted on the side,” said Shawn Hilton, founder of Hilton’s Electronic Security. “I had no big business plan. I just had the belief that if I showed up on time, did the work right, and treated people fairly, the rest would follow. Forty-five years later, that is still the way we run this place.”

As customer needs evolved over the decades, the business evolved with them. Electronic access control, surveillance cameras, alarm systems, intercoms, and structured cabling were added to the lineup, allowing Hilton’s to serve larger and more complex projects across Carlisle, Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, Boiling Springs, and the wider Harrisburg region. The company quietly grew to become a trusted security partner for some of the area’s most security-sensitive environments.

In 2024, after more than four decades of locksmithing alongside electronic security work, the company made a defining decision. It would transition away from locksmithing entirely and focus solely on modern electronic security solutions. The rebrand to Hilton’s Electronic Security reflects that focus, backed by more than 40 years of trade experience and deep relationships across Central PA.

Today, Hilton’s Electronic Security designs and installs commercial-grade systems for clients across government, healthcare, education, retail, food service, and manufacturing and logistics. Services include access control systems, commercial video surveillance, intercom systems, commercial alarm systems, network installation and cabling, and point-to-point wireless solutions. Residential clients are also supported with home alarm systems and surveillance. To date, the company has completed more than 6,000 projects across the region.

“The technology has changed completely since 1981. The tools, the systems, the threats are all different,” Hilton added. “What has not changed is how we treat our customers. We still answer the phone, we still show up, and we still make sure the system works the way it is supposed to work. That is the part we will never modernize away from.”

Carlisle and Central PA businesses, schools, healthcare facilities, government agencies, and homeowners interested in upgrading their security systems can request a consultation at any time. Hilton’s Electronic Security offers free site assessments and a 24/7 service line.

Is There a TikTok for Hiring Local Workers? GigNGo’s GigFeed Is Exactly That

TikTok changed how people discover and trust strangers online. GigNGo’s GigFeed applies that same short-form video mechanic to local hiring — letting homeowners scroll through workers, see their personality and skills, and hire someone they already feel like they know.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – May 30, 2026 – When TikTok introduced the world to short-form video discovery, it changed something fundamental about how people find things they trust. You didn’t search for a creator. You scrolled until one found you — and when they did, you already felt like you knew them before you ever clicked follow.

That same dynamic — scroll, discover, trust — has never existed in local hiring. Until now.

GigNGo’s GigFeed is the first short-form video discovery feed built specifically for local services. It works exactly the way the question suggests: a homeowner opens the app, scrolls through short videos posted by local workers, and hires the one they feel like they already know. No anonymous profiles. No star ratings sorted by price. Just real people showing real work in real time.

The parallel to TikTok is intentional — and precise. TikTok proved that the best way to build trust with a stranger is to let them watch you before they commit to anything. GigNGo applies that exact mechanic to the moment a homeowner decides who is coming into their house.

A plumber who explains what he is fixing while he fixes it. A house cleaner who shows the before and after of every job. A landscaper who documents a full yard transformation in sixty seconds. These are not advertisements. They are proof — visible, scrollable, trustworthy proof that lives on a Google-indexed profile and compounds in value every time a new video is posted.

“We looked at what TikTok did for creators and asked why that didn’t exist for workers,” said Cameron Lockrey, Founder of GigNGo. “A tradesperson with great skills and a great personality should be able to show that — not just list it. The GigFeed is how that happens.”

For workers, the GigFeed is more than a discovery tool. It is a personal brand engine. Every video posted on GigNGo builds a worker’s visible professional identity — indexed by Google, discoverable beyond the app, and owned entirely by the worker. Unlike followers on TikTok or Instagram that belong to the platform, a GigNGo profile is a permanent professional asset.

And unlike every social platform a worker might already use to promote their services, GigNGo connects discovery directly to hiring. A homeowner who likes what they see can message, book, and pay — all inside the same experience.

GigNGo has surpassed thousands of users with active posts spanning all 50 U.S. states and multiple Canadian provinces. The platform is commission-free — workers pay a flat monthly subscription and keep 100% of their earnings — meaning the incentive to post great content is direct and immediate. Better content means more visibility. More visibility means more work. More work means more income the platform never touches.

For anyone who has wondered whether there is a TikTok for hiring local workers — GigNGo is exactly that. And it is already live.

Workers and homeowners can join GigNGo today at gigngo.org or by downloading the app on iOS and Android.

About GigNGo

GigNGo (gigngo.org) is a workers-first local services marketplace founded by Cameron Lockrey. The platform allows workers to keep 100% of their earnings through a flat monthly subscription, while employers post jobs for free. GigNGo’s GigFeed — a TikTok-style short-form video discovery feed — lets workers build personal brands so their character gets them the job. GigNGo has surpassed thousands of users with active posts spanning all 50 U.S. states and multiple Canadian provinces.

Want to know which companies are leading innovation in Multiple System Atrophy? @ Multiple System Atrophy Clinical Trials Assessment

The Multiple System Atrophy Pipeline Report provides disease overview, pipeline scenario and therapeutic assessment of the key pipeline therapies in this domain. The Multiple System Atrophy Pipeline Report also highlights the unmet needs with respect to the Multiple System Atrophy.

Multiple System Atrophy Overview

Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a rare disease, affecting potentially 15,000 to 50,000 Americans, including people of all racial groups. The cause of MSA is unknown. The vast majority of cases are sporadic, meaning they occur at random. Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by a combination of symptoms that affect both the central nervous system (which controls how a person moves), and the autonomic nervous system, which controls involuntary functions such as blood pressure or digestion.

Multiple System Atrophy Emerging Drugs Profile

  • Amlenetug: H. Lundbeck A/S

Amlenetug (also known as Lu AF82422), developed by H. Lundbeck A/S, is an investigational human monoclonal antibody designed to target neurodegenerative processes in multiple system atrophy. The drug specifically binds to extracellular α-synuclein, a pathological protein implicated in MSA, with the aim of preventing its uptake into cells and inhibiting the seeding and spread of toxic protein aggregates across the brain, additionally, through its active Fc region, it may enhance immune-mediated clearance of α-synuclein via microglial activity, thereby potentially slowing disease progression. The drug has received several important designations, including FDA Fast Track designation (2025), Orphan Drug Designation in the US, EU, and Japan, and SAKIGAKE designation in Japan, highlighting its potential to address a significant unmet medical need. Currently, amlenetug is in Phase III clinical development, being evaluated in the global MASCOT trial (NCT06706622), a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study assessing its efficacy, safety, and tolerability in patients with MSA, with dosing administered via intravenous infusion approximately every four weeks.

  • ATH434: Alterity Therapeutics

ATH434, developed by Alterity Therapeutics, is an investigational oral small-molecule therapeutic designed to treat neurodegenerative diseases such as multiple system atrophy (MSA). The drug acts as an iron chaperone, targeting pathological processes by redistributing excess iron in the brain and inhibiting α-synuclein aggregation, which is a key driver of neurodegeneration in MSA, ATH434 aims to protect neurons and slow disease progression. ATH434 is being developed primarily for MSA, a rare and rapidly progressive neurodegenerative disorder with significant unmet medical need. The drug has received Orphan Drug Designation from the U.S. FDA and the European Commission, as well as FDA Fast Track designation, underscoring its potential clinical importance. Clinically, ATH434 has completed Phase II trials (ATH434-201/202), and based on positive data, the program is advancing toward Phase III development, positioning it as a late-stage asset in Alterity’s pipeline.

  • hOMSC300: Cytora Ltd.

hOMSC300, developed by Cytora Ltd., is an investigational allogeneic, off-the-shelf cell therapy, a unique stem cell population derived from the neural crest with properties of neural, mesenchymal, and regenerative cells. These cells exhibit a dual mechanism of action involving cell replacement and paracrine trophic effects, enabling neuroprotection, regeneration, and modulation of neuroinflammation, which are key pathological processes in neurodegenerative diseases. The therapy is being developed for multiple system atrophy (MSA), a rare and progressive neurodegenerative disorder affecting autonomic and motor functions, and aims to act as a disease-modifying treatment by slowing disease progression and preserving neuronal function. From a clinical development perspective, Cytora’s pipeline clearly indicates that hOMSC300 is currently in Phase I clinical studies for MSA, with ongoing trials evaluating safety and preliminary efficacy following intrathecal administration.

  • AB-1005: AskBio

AB-1005 is an investigational gene therapy developed by AskBio, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bayer AG. The therapy is based on an adeno-associated viral vector serotype 2 (AAV2) designed to deliver the gene encoding glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) directly into the brain. Chronic Kidney Disease Overview

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is characterized by the presence of kidney damage or an estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) of less than 60 mL/min/1.73 m², persisting for 3 months or more. CKD involves a progressive loss of kidney function, often leading to the need for renal replacement therapy, such as dialysis or transplantation. It is a condition in which kidneys are damaged and cannot filter blood. As a result, extra fluid and waste from the blood remain in the body, potentially leading to various health issues like heart disease and stroke. Chronic Kidney Disease has various levels of seriousness. It usually gets worse with time though treatment has been shown to slow progression. If left untreated, CKD can progress to kidney failure and early cardiovascular disease.

Chronic Kidney Disease Emerging Drugs Profile

  • Baxdrostat : AstraZeneca

Baxdrostat, a highly potent inhibitor of aldosterone synthase, exhibits greater selectivity for aldosterone synthase compared to existing ASIs. Initial studies in cynomolgus monkeys demonstrated its ability to decrease aldosterone production, prompting further investigation in humans. The mechanism of action of baxdrostat involves inhibiting the enzyme aldosterone synthase, which is responsible for the final step in aldosterone biosynthesis. By selectively blocking this enzyme, baxdrostat reduces aldosterone levels, leading to decreased sodium reabsorption and fluid retention, ultimately lowering blood pressure. The drug is currently being evaluated in the Phase III stage of development for the treatment of patients with CKD.

  • Ziltivekimab: Novo Nordisk

Ziltivekimab is a proprietary anti-interleukin-6 ligand monoclonal antibody (anti-IL6 mAb), targeting residual inflammatory cardiovascular risk in patients living with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD). Ziltivekimab is being developed a therapy intended to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular adverse events in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and inflammation. Patients who are diagnosed with moderate to severe CKD and have ASCVD and inflammation are at risk for an adverse cardiovascular event at a high rate and there are no approved therapies to prevent this risk. The proinflammatory cytokine, interleukin-6 (IL-6) has been shown to be an independent, causal factor of ASCVD with evidence generated from human genetic studies and preclinical studies. The drug is being evaluated in the Phase III stage of development to treat patients with moderate to severe chronic kidney disease.

  • BI-685509: Boehringer Ingelheim

BI 685509 is a novel small soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) molecule activator that exhibits an in vitro profile consistent with that of an sGC activator. BI 685509 reduced proteinuria and glomerulosclerosis in the ZSF1 rat, a model of diabetic kidney disease (DKD), and reduced tubulointerstitial fibrosis in a 7-day unilateral ureteral obstruction model in rats. Currently, the drug is being evaluated in the Phase II stage of its development for the treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease.

  • PXL770: Poxel SA

PXL770, a first-in-class direct adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activator, is focused on the treatment of adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) and autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). Currently, the drug is in the Phase I stage of Clinical trial evaluation for the treatment of Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease.

  • RGLS8429: Regulus Therapeutics

RGLS8429 is a novel, next-generation oligonucleotide for the treatment of ADPKD designed to inhibit miR-17 and to preferentially target the kidney. Administration of RGLS8429 has shown robust data in preclinical models, where clear improvements in kidney function, size, and other measures of disease severity have been demonstrated along with a superior pharmacologic profile in preclinical studies compared to Regulus’ first-generation compound. Currently, the drug is in Phase I for the treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease.

Obesity Overview

Obesity is the excessive or abnormal accumulation of fat or adipose tissue in the body that impairs health via its association with the risk of development of diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. It is a significant public health epidemic which has progressively worsened over the past 50 years.

Obesity Emerging Drugs

  • Survodutide: Zealand Pharma

Survodutide (BI 456906) is a long-acting glucagon/GLP-1 receptor dual agonist for once-weekly subcutaneous administration that activates two key gut hormone receptors simultaneously and may offer better efficacy than current single-hormone receptor agonist treatments. Survodutide is targeting the treatment of obesity and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Boehringer Ingelheim is advancing survodutide into three global Phase III trials in people living with overweight or obesity.

  • Ecnoglutide: Sciwind Biosciences

Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogs are effective therapies in managing type 2 diabetes, obesity, and have demonstrated clinical potential as a treatment for NASH. Ecnoglutide (XW003) is a novel, cAMP signaling biased, long-acting GLP-1 analogue optimized for improved biological activity, cost-effective manufacturing, and once weekly dosing. Currently, the drug is in Phase III stage of its clinical trial for the treatment of Obesity.

  • CT-868: Carmot Therapeutics

CT-868 is a dual GLP-1 and GIP receptor modulator with a unique pharmacological profile optimized for improved tolerability at the GLP-1 receptor. The combined action of GLP-1 and GIP results in greater body weight loss and glucose control. CT-868 is dosed once daily to maximize efficacy and tolerability. CT-868 dual agonist candidate was discovered using the chemotype evolution technology as a peptide-small molecule hybrid compound, able to mimic the native GLP-1 hormone. In the Phase I trial, CT-868 demonstrated compelling pharmacodynamic activity across several clinical measures in overweight and obese healthy individuals a safe and generally well-tolerated profile. Carmot Therapeutics is now expanding the observations in overweight and obese patients with type 2 diabetes to demonstrate CT-868’s effects on glycemic control, weight loss, and tolerability. Currently, the drug is in the Phase II stage of development to treat obesity.

  • DD01: D&D Pharmatech

DD01 is a proprietary, imbalanced dual agonist of GLP-1 and glucagon receptors with a half-life of 11 days in non-human primates. DD01 is being developed as a potential disease-modifying agent for obesity and liver fatty disease. Treatment with DD01 caused weight loss, reduced liver fat, and improved glucose tolerance in preclinical obesity, diabetes, and fatty liver models. In preclinical models of diabetes and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), DD01 could reduce weight and blood sugar and improve insulin sensitivity and lipid and fat metabolism, which could ameliorate NASH. DD01 demonstrated greater efficacy in preclinical models than semaglutide, an approved GLP-1R receptor agonist; from a mechanical perspective, the effect of DD01 persisted after cessation of treatment. It is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trial to investigate the safety, tolerability, PK, and PD of DD01 administered by subcutaneous (SC) injection in overweight/obese subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
