PTC Fitness Invites Central PA Residents to Build Healthier Habits and Help Feed Local Children Through Giving Wellness Program

Eight-week online wellness journey from the Mechanicsburg-based studio provides weekend meals for 11 children for every person who enrolls, in partnership with Midwest Food Bank Pennsylvania and other Central PA charities.

Precision Training Concepts (PTC Fitness), Central Pennsylvania’s trusted private personal training studio with locations in Mechanicsburg and Harrisburg, is inviting residents, families, and workplace teams across the region to join its Giving Wellness Program, an eight-week online wellness journey designed to help participants build lasting healthy habits while feeding hungry children in their own community.

For every individual who enrolls, PTC Fitness provides resources for weekend meals for 11 children in Central PA through a partnership with Midwest Food Bank Pennsylvania. Participants may also choose to direct their support to other approved local charities, including The Salvation Army Harrisburg and the CommunityAid Foundation.

“Wellness was never meant to stop at the studio door,” said Bryan Sibbach, co-owner of PTC Fitness. “When someone joins Giving Wellness, they are not just changing their own habits. They are helping a child in their neighborhood eat better on the weekend. That connection is what keeps people showing up, week after week.”

The program is built around eight core habits that touch every area of well-being, including nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and recovery. Over the eight-week journey, participants receive daily coaching content, expert wellness guidance, customized fitness plans, nutrition tracking, healthy habit coaching, stress management tools, and regular check-ins. A gamified leaderboard tracks points earned and progress made, giving participants real-time visibility into their journey alongside others working toward similar goals.

Because Giving Wellness is delivered entirely online, it is accessible for individuals, families, friend groups, workplace teams, and church groups across Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, Carlisle, and the broader Central PA region. No gym membership is required to participate.

“We hear from participants all the time that knowing their hard work is feeding kids in Central PA gives them that extra push on tough days,” said Patty Sibbach, co-owner of PTC Fitness. “It turns a personal goal into a community story. One person joining feeds 11 children. Twenty people joining feeds 220. Fifty people joining feeds 550. The math is simple, and the impact is real.”

Enrollment is open to individuals at $119 per person, with discounted group rates available for teams and additional benefits for corporate or large-group enrollments of 20 or more. According to industry research, companies that invest in workplace wellness see an average return of $1.50 to $3 for every dollar spent, with 67 percent of participants reporting higher job satisfaction, making Giving Wellness a strong fit for Central PA employers looking to support both their teams and their communities.

39% of Canadians Nearing Retirement Have Less Than $5,000 Saved: Aleph Retirement Planners Launches Free Hub of 323 Retirement Statistics

“Statistics alone do not create a retirement plan but they help people see the bigger picture. When someone understands the trends shaping retirement, they ask better questions, spot risks earlier, and build a plan that reflects their own life — not someone else’s averages.”
New no-registration resource compiles data from Statistics Canada, the National Institute of Ageing, HOOPP and 25 other authoritative sources into one searchable library for retirees, pre-retirees, advisors, and journalists

MARKHAM, ON – June 6, 2026 – With 57% of unretired Canadians saying they feel unprepared for retirement and 39% of those aged 55–64 holding less than $5,000 in savings, Aleph Retirement Planners today announced the launch of its Retirement Planning Statistics hub — a free, continuously updated library of 323 statistics on Canadian retirement, organized into 16 categories and drawn from 28 authoritative sources.

The launch reflects a growing national urgency. Canada is on the cusp of becoming a “super-aged” nation by 2030, when more than one in five citizens will be over 65, and nearly half of Canadians over 50 now say they cannot afford to retire when they want to. Yet the data that could inform better decisions remains scattered across government reports, pension surveys, research institutes, and financial studies. The new hub brings it together in one place — searchable, sourced, and free.

“Retirement anxiety thrives in the dark. Too many people are making forty-year decisions based on outdated assumptions, headlines, or what worked for their parents,” said Umair Khan, Founder at Aleph Retirement Planners. “When Canadians can see the real numbers — the savings gaps, the pension trade-offs, the true cost of care — planning stops being frightening and starts being doable.”

The resource surfaces striking findings across every dimension of retirement:

Savings gaps and the aspiration–reality divide: Ontarians believe they need $1.9 million for a comfortable retirement — yet one in four Canadians over 50 has less than $5,000 saved, 48% are behind schedule on their savings goals, and 42% of homeowners plan to rely on selling their home to fund retirement.

CPP and pension optimization: Nine in ten Canadians claim their CPP/QPP benefits by age 65, and fewer than 5% wait until 70 — even though delaying can more than double the monthly pension. The average claimant forfeits roughly $100,000 in lifetime income by starting at 60 instead of 70, a decision more than a thousand Canadians make every day.

Healthcare and long-term care costs: Seniors account for 47% of Canada’s health care spending while representing just 19% of the population. More than 50,000 Ontarians are on the wait list for a long-term care home, with a median wait of 165 days, and the cost of publicly funded long-term care is projected to more than triple within 30 years.

The human side of retirement: People underestimate their own longevity by an average of 4.7 years, 43% of Canadians aged 50+ are at risk of social isolation, and 57% report feeling lonely — evidence that retirement planning must extend beyond finances to well-being and quality of life.

“Statistics alone do not create a retirement plan,” added Umair. “But they help people see the bigger picture. When someone understands the trends shaping retirement, they ask better questions, spot risks earlier, and build a plan that reflects their own life — not someone else’s averages.”

Every statistic in the hub is attributed to its original source — including Statistics Canada, the National Institute of Ageing, the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), the OECD, BMO, Manulife, RBC, and the Government of Ontario — with publication years noted so readers can judge how current each figure is.

The resource is free, requires no registration, and will be updated as new data is published, making it a ready reference for retirees, pre-retirees, financial advisors, journalists, researchers, and policymakers. Media and content creators are welcome to cite the statistics with attribution to the original sources.

Austin card shows gain popularity in June 2026 as the trading card hobby grows

The trading card hobby continues to grow in 2026, with PSA grading over two million cards in May and Pokémon products selling out in stores. Card Groove lists eight Austin card shows in June, reflecting the trend.

The trading card hobby continued to grow through the first half of 2026, with rising card grading volume, sustained demand for Pokémon products, and a busy schedule of local events. The trend is visible in Austin, Texas, where eight card shows are scheduled across the metro area in June, alongside a growing number of recurring weekly gatherings. Card Groove, an online directory of local trading card shows, compiled the schedule and tracks similar activity across the markets it covers.

The scale of collector demand is reflected in recent grading figures. According to data published by GemRate, PSA graded about 2.07 million cards in May 2026, an increase of roughly 25 percent year over year, while the industry graded close to 2.95 million cards across all companies. Demand has grown to the point that PSA has temporarily paused new submissions for its four lowest-cost Value tiers, effective June 2, 2026, citing a backlog of nearly 10 million cards. Trading card games (TCGs) such as Pokémon, One Piece, and Magic: The Gathering have surged in popularity, and the rise in TCG submissions has contributed to this growth.

Demand has been especially visible in the Pokemon market, where new products have been difficult to find on store shelves. Retailers have reported selling out quickly, and collectors have formed lines ahead of store openings when restocks are expected. The shortage has pushed many collectors toward in-person card shows as an alternative source for both sealed product and single cards.

Card shows provide a setting where collectors can buy, sell, and trade in person. The following card shows are scheduled in the Austin metro area in June 2026:

  • Legacy Card Show — June 6 at the Courtyard by Marriott, Austin. Free admission.

  • Mom and Pop Card Show, South Austin — June 7 at Ants Beer Cave, Austin. Five-dollar admission.

  • Austin Card Show — June 12 to 14 at the Palmer Events Center, Austin. A three-day show with more than 400 tables; ten-dollar admission.

  • Bat City Card Show — June 13 at Kenny’s Collectibles, Austin. Free admission.

  • Mom and Pop Card Show, Cedar Park — June 14 at The Fieldhouse at The Crossover, Leander. Five-dollar admission.

  • Home Town Card Show — June 20 at Red Horn Coffee and Brewery, Leander. Free admission, with more than 20 tables.

  • Home Town Card Show — June 21 at VFW Post 8787, Austin. Free admission, with more than 50 tables.

  • ATX Card Show — June 27 and 28 at the Hilton Austin, Austin. A two-day show with more than 300 tables; ten-dollar admission.

Recurring weekly events have also expanded. Craigo’s Card Show, hosted by Lakeway Card Show, runs every Tuesday at Craigo’s Sunset Valley in South Austin and every Thursday at Craigo’s Pizza & Pastaria in Lakeway, both from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with free admission, covering Pokémon, One Piece, and sports cards. Local card shops have added regular trade nights as well, including Card Gurus Comics and Collectibles in Pflugerville and a weekly Saturday trade night from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Card Traders of Austin on Spicewood Springs Road. These recurring sessions give collectors midweek and weekend options between the larger monthly shows.

Attendees at Austin shows typically find vintage and modern cards, singles, sealed products, and professionally graded cards, with most shows featuring dedicated Pokémon tables alongside sports card vendors.

“Interest in the hobby has grown steadily this year, and that is showing up in how many shows are running locally,” said Kevin Jones of Card Groove. “When products are hard to find in stores, shows give collectors a place to buy, sell, and trade in person.”

LIVERMORE, Calif. – June 5, 2026 – Mike O’Neill has officially launched O’Neill’s Green Solar, a licensed solar installation company headquartered in Livermore, Calif., bringing clean energy contracting services to homeowners and businesses throughout the Bay Area.

Operating from 6776 Patterson Pass Rd, Livermore, CA 94550, O’Neill’s Green Solar holds California Contractor’s License No. 1059264. O’Neill brings a strong foundation in outdoor property improvement to this new venture. 45 Years of Hilton’s: Founder Shawn Hilton Marks Nearly Half a Century Protecting Carlisle and Central PA Businesses

From a 1965 Dodge van and a teenage locksmith in 1981 to a modern electronic security firm serving commercial and residential clients across Central Pennsylvania, Hilton’s Electronic Security celebrates a 45-year milestone.

Hilton’s Electronic Security, the Carlisle-based commercial and residential security provider, is marking 45 years in business in 2026. Founded in November 1981 by Shawn Hilton at the age of 17, the company has grown from a one-person locksmithing operation into one of Central Pennsylvania’s longest-standing electronic security firms, serving businesses, schools, healthcare facilities, government buildings, and homeowners across the region.

In its earliest days, the company operated out of a robin-egg blue 1965 Dodge van with hand-stenciled red and yellow lettering, a vehicle that became a familiar sight on Carlisle streets. Shawn Hilton spent those first years driving the van around Cumberland County offering rekeying, master keying, key cutting, emergency lockouts, and deadbolt installations, building a reputation one customer at a time.

“I was 17 years old with a van, a set of tools, and a phone number painted on the side,” said Shawn Hilton, founder of Hilton’s Electronic Security. “I had no big business plan. I just had the belief that if I showed up on time, did the work right, and treated people fairly, the rest would follow. Forty-five years later, that is still the way we run this place.”

As customer needs evolved over the decades, the business evolved with them. Electronic access control, surveillance cameras, alarm systems, intercoms, and structured cabling were added to the lineup, allowing Hilton’s to serve larger and more complex projects across Carlisle, Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, Boiling Springs, and the wider Harrisburg region. The company quietly grew to become a trusted security partner for some of the area’s most security-sensitive environments.

In 2024, after more than four decades of locksmithing alongside electronic security work, the company made a defining decision. It would transition away from locksmithing entirely and focus solely on modern electronic security solutions. The rebrand to Hilton’s Electronic Security reflects that focus, backed by more than 40 years of trade experience and deep relationships across Central PA.

Today, Hilton’s Electronic Security designs and installs commercial-grade systems for clients across government, healthcare, education, retail, food service, and manufacturing and logistics. Services include access control systems, commercial video surveillance, intercom systems, commercial alarm systems, network installation and cabling, and point-to-point wireless solutions. Residential clients are also supported with home alarm systems and surveillance. To date, the company has completed more than 6,000 projects across the region.

“The technology has changed completely since 1981. The tools, the systems, the threats are all different,” Hilton added. “What has not changed is how we treat our customers. We still answer the phone, we still show up, and we still make sure the system works the way it is supposed to work. That is the part we will never modernize away from.”

Carlisle and Central PA businesses, schools, healthcare facilities, government agencies, and homeowners interested in upgrading their security systems can request a consultation at any time. Hilton’s Electronic Security offers free site assessments and a 24/7 service line.

Women-Owned Optical Practice: Noelle Calzone and Michele Henry Mark a New Era at Mechanicsburg’s Hampden Optical

Two veteran board-certified opticians with more than 45 years of combined experience continue the legacy of Central Pennsylvania’s longest-standing independent eye care destination, established in 1996.

Hampden Optical, the trusted independent eye care and designer eyewear destination on the Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg PA, is entering a new chapter under the leadership of co-owners Noelle Calzone and Michele Henry. Both board-certified opticians acquired the practice in 2024 and continue to build on its nearly three-decade legacy of personalized vision care in Central Pennsylvania.

Founded in 1996, Hampden Optical has spent more than 25 years providing the Mechanicsburg, Harrisburg, Carlisle, and surrounding Central PA communities with comprehensive eye exams, designer eyewear, and a level of one-on-one service that independent practices are uniquely positioned to offer. “Eye care is personal,” said Noelle Calzone, co-owner of Hampden Optical. “We get to know our patients, their lifestyles, and what they actually need from their eyewear. That kind of attention is something only an independent practice can deliver, and it is what we are committed to protecting and growing.”

Henry brings more than 20 years of optical experience and a reputation as the practice’s “fixer of all things,” with particular strength in frame adjustments and repairs. Her sense of style and warm personality have helped redefine what choosing eyewear can feel like.

“Picking out glasses should be fun, not stressful,” said Michele Henry, co-owner of Hampden Optical. “We want every person who walks through our doors to leave feeling confident in how they look and how they see. That is the whole experience we have built here.”

Alongside Calzone and Henry, the Hampden Optical team includes Dr. David E. Paden, OD, a Pennsylvania College of Optometry graduate who completed a residency in ocular disease and refractive eye care at OMNI Eye Services of New Jersey. Together, the team offers a full range of services including comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fitting, pediatric vision screening, custom progressives and specialty coatings, dry eye and allergy care, and on-site frame and lens repairs.

Patients also have access to a curated selection of more than 800 designer frames from leading brands, including the recently launched Ray-Ban Meta smart eyewear, alongside Aspex, Tura, Kenmark, Vera Wang, and others. Is There a TikTok for Hiring Local Workers? GigNGo’s GigFeed Is Exactly That

TikTok changed how people discover and trust strangers online. GigNGo’s GigFeed applies that same short-form video mechanic to local hiring — letting homeowners scroll through workers, see their personality and skills, and hire someone they already feel like they know.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – May 30, 2026 – When TikTok introduced the world to short-form video discovery, it changed something fundamental about how people find things they trust. You didn’t search for a creator. You scrolled until one found you — and when they did, you already felt like you knew them before you ever clicked follow.

That same dynamic — scroll, discover, trust — has never existed in local hiring. Until now.

GigNGo’s GigFeed is the first short-form video discovery feed built specifically for local services. It works exactly the way the question suggests: a homeowner opens the app, scrolls through short videos posted by local workers, and hires the one they feel like they already know. No anonymous profiles. No star ratings sorted by price. Just real people showing real work in real time.

The parallel to TikTok is intentional — and precise. TikTok proved that the best way to build trust with a stranger is to let them watch you before they commit to anything. GigNGo applies that exact mechanic to the moment a homeowner decides who is coming into their house.

A plumber who explains what he is fixing while he fixes it. A house cleaner who shows the before and after of every job. A landscaper who documents a full yard transformation in sixty seconds. These are not advertisements. They are proof — visible, scrollable, trustworthy proof that lives on a Google-indexed profile and compounds in value every time a new video is posted.

“We looked at what TikTok did for creators and asked why that didn’t exist for workers,” said Cameron Lockrey, Founder of GigNGo. “A tradesperson with great skills and a great personality should be able to show that — not just list it. The GigFeed is how that happens.”

For workers, the GigFeed is more than a discovery tool. It is a personal brand engine. Every video posted on GigNGo builds a worker’s visible professional identity — indexed by Google, discoverable beyond the app, and owned entirely by the worker. Unlike followers on TikTok or Instagram that belong to the platform, a GigNGo profile is a permanent professional asset.

And unlike every social platform a worker might already use to promote their services, GigNGo connects discovery directly to hiring. A homeowner who likes what they see can message, book, and pay — all inside the same experience.

GigNGo has surpassed thousands of users with active posts spanning all 50 U.S. states and multiple Canadian provinces. The platform is commission-free — workers pay a flat monthly subscription and keep 100% of their earnings — meaning the incentive to post great content is direct and immediate. Better content means more visibility. More visibility means more work. More work means more income the platform never touches.

For anyone who has wondered whether there is a TikTok for hiring local workers — GigNGo is exactly that. And it is already live.

Workers and homeowners can join GigNGo today at gigngo.org or by downloading the app on iOS and Android.

About GigNGo

GigNGo (gigngo.org) is a workers-first local services marketplace founded by Cameron Lockrey. The platform allows workers to keep 100% of their earnings through a flat monthly subscription, while employers post jobs for free. GigNGo’s GigFeed — a TikTok-style short-form video discovery feed — lets workers build personal brands so their character gets them the job. GigNGo has surpassed thousands of users with active posts spanning all 50 U.S. states and multiple Canadian provinces.

Migraine Overview

Migraine is a neurological pain condition that affects millions of people. It is the most common neurological disease that has significant effects on the brain and consequently on behaviors associated with repeated migraine attacks. The stress of migraine is associated with premigraine, intermigraine, and postmigraine processes. Understanding of migraine includes how normally non-painful stimuli such as light may exacerbate the pain of migraine and how the migraine headache may produce changes in skin sensitivity (allodynia) that can involve the whole body. Alterations in the brain’s function and structure, as revealed by advanced imaging techniques, have provided new insights into the mechanisms of the disease

Migraine Emerging Drugs Profile

  • AXS-07: Axsome Therapeutics

AXS-07 is a novel, oral, rapidly absorbed, multi-mechanistic, investigational medicine. AXS-07 consists of MoSEIC (Molecular Solubility Enhanced Inclusion Complex) meloxicam and rizatriptan. AXS-07 is thought to act by inhibiting Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) release, reversing CGRP-mediated vasodilation, and inhibiting neuroinflammation, pain signal transmission, and central sensitization. Meloxicam is a new molecular entity for migraine enabled by MoSEIC™ technology, which results in rapid absorption of meloxicam while maintaining a long plasma half-life. AXS-07 is currently being developed for the acute treatment of migraine. The product is in the NDA submitted phase of development.

  • STS-101: Satsuma Pharmaceuticals

STS101 combines the Satsuma powder technology with an easy-to-use nasal delivery device to create a reliable and convenient DHE product potentially able to provide the unique clinical advantages of DHE while overcoming the shortcomings of existing DHE products. TS101 has a number of key advantages that we believe may provide significant benefits over other acute treatments for migraine and result in robust and consistent clinical performance. These advantages arise from our proprietary dry-powder formulation, which incorporates a mucoadhesive drug carrier and engineered drug particle technologies, and our proprietary nasal delivery device. STS101 is an investigational product that is currently being evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials for the acute treatment of migraine and is not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

  • Zavegepant: Biohaven Pharmaceuticals

Zavegepant (BHV-3500) is a third generation, high affinity, selective and structurally unique, small molecule CGRP receptor antagonist. The chemical properties of zavegepant make the product candidate potentially suitable for multiple routes of delivery, including nasal, subcutaneous, inhalation or oral administration. It is currently in Phase III stage of development for Migraine and is being developed by Biohaven Pharmaceuticals.

  • TNX1900: Tonix Pharmaceuticals

TNX-1900(Oxytocin), Tonix’s proprietary potentiated intranasal oxytocin is in the pre-Investigational New Drug (IND) stage and is currently being studied as a candidate for prophylaxis of chronic migraine. Oxytocin is a naturally occurring human hormone that acts as a neurotransmitter in the brain. In clinical and preliminary research, it has been observed that increased oxytocin levels can relieve headaches. When oxytocin is delivered via the nasal route, it results in enhanced binding to receptors on neurons in the trigeminal system, inhibiting transmission of pain signals. Intranasal oxytocin has been well tolerated in several clinical trials in adults and children and has been shown to block calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) release in animals, a pathway known to be critical to the pathogenesis of migraine attacks. TNX-1900 is believed to interrupt pain signals at the trigeminal ganglia by suppressing electrical impulses, a potentially different activity than drugs that just block CGRP. TNX-1900 is an investigational new drug and has not been approved for any indication.
