New Investigation Reveals Which EOFY 2026 At-Home Beauty Deals Actually Beat the Salon – and Which Are Savings Traps

Independent analysis finds IPL devices, spray-tan kits and gel-nail systems deliver real four-figure savings, while several heavily marketed “bargains” fail the honest test once quality, safety and corrective costs are factored in.

SYDNEY – 2 June, 2026 – As End-of-Financial-Year sales sweep Australian beauty retailers, a new independent investigation by SmartSpend Australia cuts through the discount noise to identify which at-home products genuinely replace expensive salon habits — and which ones only look like a deal on the sticker.

The single best risk-adjusted deal identified is the Philips Lumea Series 9000 (BRI957) at Shaver Shop for $667, down from $1,499 — a 55% discount. For a heavy laser-clinic user, the device can save between $850 and $1,800 in its first year alone, against the $3,000–$5,000 a full-body course typically costs across chain clinics.

IPL and tanning lead the field

Shaver Shop’s confirmed EOFY 2026 range carries some of the deepest beauty-tech discounts in the country, including the Lumea Series 7000 at $299 (down 60%) — named the standout value pick of the entire catalogue — and the Braun Skin i·expert 7 at $675 (down 51%), a strong option for darker skin tones. Even the cheapest credible device pays back inside two to three months for anyone currently paying chain-clinic prices.

Tanning emerged as the quiet winner. Committed salon tanners spend $1,170–$1,800 a year, so a MineTan Bronze Babe home spray kit at roughly $110–$130 during the Priceline EOFY event pays for itself in three or four avoided visits. SmartSpend notes the quality gap to a salon spray tan is genuinely small once the application technique is mastered.

The savings traps to walk past

The investigation is equally blunt about products where the discount is real but the savings story collapses on inspection. Its “don’t bother” list includes:

  • HiSmile PAP+ and V34 — peroxide-free whitening formulas without published clinical evidence, with the original kit now discontinued. Boring, ADA-backed whitening strips from Crest and Oral-B win on both evidence and value.

  • Happy Skin Co IPL — heavily promoted on social media, but reviews show burn and quality complaints, and the 12-month warranty trails the two-year cover from Philips and Braun.

  • Iconsign brow-lamination and lash-lift kits — described as the riskiest savings claim in the report, using real perm chemistry that can leave brittle, breaking brows or permanent lash breakage; several dermatologists publicly advise against DIY at home.

  • Supermarket box dye on highlighted, balayaged or previously coloured hair — corrective colour to fix a botched result routinely costs more than a full year of salon visits.

A standout in at-home gel nails: Ezmio Beauty

In the gel-nail category, the investigation singles out Ezmio Beauty as a genuine Australian success story. Founded in 2020 by three sisters and a friend and based in Seven Hills, NSW, the brand stands out for its HEMA-free formula — a real allergy-safety advantage over most mass-market gels — and its larger 17 mL bottles, which go further than the industry norm. With a dedicated salon wholesale program and a design collaboration with couturier Steven Khalil, Ezmio offers committed users a credible way to bring the gel-manicure habit home and save more than $1,000 a year, with its Essential Gel Nail Kit available for less than $229 this EOFY. It’s one of the best ways to save money with there purchase this year.

The bigger lesson for shoppers

“The size of the discount is a poor predictor of the actual saving,” said Jordan Mills, lead researcher at SmartSpend Australia. “A root-touch-up powder at 25% off can save more real money over a year than a 50%-off LED mask, because it genuinely does its job. The best EOFY decision isn’t the biggest percentage on the sticker — it’s the product whose job you’ll actually do at home, every fortnight, for the next two years.”

The report cautions that even the best device is worthless if it ends up in a drawer: retailer data suggests roughly a quarter of IPL buyers stop within twelve weeks, which would collapse those first-year savings to near zero.

Flactivity Launches New Booking Platform to Support Florida Businesses and Fund Environmental Conservation

Flactivity has announced the official launch of Flactivity.com, a dedicated tourism and activity booking platform focused exclusively on the state of Florida. Designed to operate with convenience, the new platform distinguishes itself as a Florida-based company that knows the state best, prioritizing local economic support and directing a percentage of every booking toward the preservation of Florida’s natural environment.

Expanding on this local advantage, Nolan from Flactivity explained, “We know Florida best from being located in Florida. We understand the local landscape, the hidden spots, and exactly what makes this state so special for visitors. Simply put, Floridians know Florida best, and that local insight allows us to connect holidaymakers with truly authentic experiences.”

When holidaymakers book tours, attractions, and activities online, revenue frequently flows through massive travel platforms headquartered far from the communities being visited. These large online travel agencies dominate the industry, collecting high commissions that leave local businesses with only a fraction of the value they generate. Flactivity was established to offer a different approach, helping visitors connect directly with Florida-based businesses and attractions.

The platform brings visibility to locally owned operations that often struggle to compete with the massive advertising budgets of giant corporate ecosystems. By leveling the playing field, Flactivity highlights the hidden gems and family-owned businesses that are the true heart of Florida’s tourism. Users can discover and book a wide variety of authentic experiences, including fishing charters in Panama City Beach, coastal escape rooms, dolphin tours, helicopter rides, airboat adventures, family attractions, and boat rentals.

Beyond supporting the local economy, Flactivity integrates environmental stewardship directly into its core operations. Recognizing that the state’s natural beauty is fundamental to its appeal, the platform operates on the principle that tourism should give back to the land that makes these experiences possible.

Explaining why booking local activities through Flactivity matters, Nolan from Flactivity said: “Florida’s natural beauty is one of its greatest treasures. From crystal-clear springs and white-sand beaches to marine wildlife and coastal ecosystems, preserving these places matters not only for residents but also for future generations of travelers. That is why Flactivity is committed to donating a percentage of every booking toward efforts that help preserve Florida’s environment and natural spaces. Tourism should not only benefit visitors and businesses. It should also help protect the destinations people come to experience and love.”

To ensure customer privacy and maintain the highest standards of data security, Flactivity utilizes the FareHarbor Distribution Network. All bookings and payment processes are securely handled through FareHarbor’s industry-trusted infrastructure. Flactivity does not process or store sensitive payment details or reservation information on its servers during checkout. The only data stored directly by Flactivity is optional account information for users who choose to register to leave reviews, save favorites, or participate in community features. This setup allows travelers to discover local experiences with confidence, knowing their financial data is protected by a secure, external network.

Flactivity is not attempting to become another faceless corporate entity. Instead, it is building a targeted platform focused on three main objectives: supporting local businesses, helping travelers discover memorable experiences, and giving back to the state. When users choose to book through the site, they are actively ensuring that more tourism dollars remain in the community, helping to keep Florida local.

Christopher Reep Launches “7 Days of Execution” Challenge

Christopher Reep Launches “7 Days of Execution” Challenge

Christopher Reep, Mooresville, North Carolina.
Christopher Reep, operations leader based in North America, invites individuals to close the gap between intention and action through a simple 7-day execution discipline challenge.

Christopher Reep, an operations leader and author known for his work in Lean systems and structured problem solving, has launched a new public initiative: the “7 Days of Execution” Challenge. The challenge is designed to help individuals build a simple but powerful habit—turning priorities into consistent daily action.

Reep’s work has long focused on a common issue across industries: people have clear goals, but struggle to follow through consistently.

“Strategy only matters if it shows up in daily work,” Reep says. “If it doesn’t change behaviour, it’s just noise.”

The challenge takes that principle and applies it at an individual level. No tools. No apps. Just daily clarity and disciplined follow-through.

Why This Habit Matters

Research highlights the importance of execution and consistency:

  • 67% of strategies fail due to poor execution, not poor planning (Harvard Business Review)

  • Only 23% of employees strongly connect their daily work to company goals (Gallup)

  • 70% of improvement efforts fail due to lack of sustained behaviour change (McKinsey)

  • People who write down and review priorities daily are 42% more likely to achieve them (Dominican University study)

Reep believes the issue is simple.

“Most problems aren’t about effort,” he says. “They’re about clarity.”

The 7-Day Plan: Simple Daily Execution

Each day focuses on one small action. No special tools are required—just a notebook or a blank page.

Day 1: Define What Matters Write down your top 1–3 priorities for the week. Keep it focused.

Day 2: Connect Work to Priorities List your daily tasks. Link each one to a priority. Remove what doesn’t align.

Day 3: Create a Simple Routine Set a fixed time to review your priorities each day. Keep it consistent.

Day 4: Identify One Problem Pick one recurring issue in your work. Write down the root cause, not just the symptom.

Day 5: Take One Focused Action Act on the problem you identified. Keep the solution small and practical.

Day 6: Review and Adjust Look at what worked and what didn’t. Adjust your approach.

Day 7: Reflect and Reset Review the week. Decide what habits to carry forward.

“Execution is not about doing more,” Reep says. “It’s about doing the right things, the right way, every day.”

Share Your Progress

Participants are encouraged to track and reflect on their progress.

If sharing publicly: Use simple prompts such as:

  • “Day 1: My top priorities are…”

  • “Today I removed one task that didn’t align…”

  • “Biggest insight from Day 4 was…”

  • “One thing I’m doing differently next week is…”

Prefer to stay private? Keep a daily journal. Write one short reflection each day. Focus on clarity and consistency, not perfection.

“Alignment doesn’t happen in a slide deck,” Reep notes. “It happens in daily actions.”

A Simple Shift With Long-Term Impact

The goal of the challenge is not intensity. It is consistency.

Reep emphasises that real improvement comes from building habits that last beyond a single week.

“Improvement should not be something extra,” he says. “It should be how the work gets done.”

Call to Action

The “7 Days of Execution” Challenge is open to anyone. Start today. Write down your top priorities. Take one clear action.

Then repeat it tomorrow.

AllSafe IT Founder Bones Ijeoma Joins EO Wonder Podcast to Explain Why Most Businesses Are Using AI Wrong

“AllSafe IT Founder Bones Ijeoma Joins EO Wonder Podcast to Explain Why Most Businesses Are Using AI Wrong”
Pasadena-based managed IT services and AI consulting leader shares the AllSafe Intelligence Three-Engine Framework for moving past bolt-on AI to outcome-driven systems.

Pasadena, CA – Jun 2, 2026 – Bones Ijeoma, founder of AllSafe IT, recently joined host Kalika Yap on the EO Wonder Podcast for a conversation on why entrepreneurs are not seeing real results from AI, and what to do instead.

AllSafe IT is a 7x CRN MSP 500 award winner (2026 Pioneer 250 category), SOC 2 certified, and provides 24/7 managed IT services and cybersecurity to small and mid-sized businesses across Los Angeles, Pasadena, and Orange County. Founded by Bones Ijeoma in 2003, the firm has guided more than 100 organizations through digital transformation, drawing on prior work at Accenture, DreamWorks, UCLA Medical Center, and Marriott to bring an enterprise-grade approach to small business IT.

The episode, titled “How AI Agents Can Help Your Business with Growth,” draws on Bones Ijeoma’s 25 years of experience helping organizations modernize their operations. As the founder of both AllSafe IT and its sister AI consulting firm, AllSafe Intelligence, Bones Ijeoma brings a practical, business-first perspective to one of the most overhyped topics in technology today.

The Bolt-On Trap

At the heart of the conversation is a concept Bones Ijeoma calls the “bolt-on trap”: the common mistake of layering AI onto existing workflows without fundamentally changing the underlying process.

“If AI is just helping you do your current process better, that’s what we call bolt-on. What we want is for AI to allow you to do things you couldn’t do before.” — Bones Ijeoma, Founder, AllSafe IT and AllSafe Intelligence

The distinction matters. Where bolt-on AI speeds up manual steps, outcome-driven AI agents handle entire workflows end to end: reading emails, processing documents, routing approvals, and communicating with other AI systems, without requiring human involvement at every stage.

The AllSafe Intelligence Three-Engine Framework

Bones Ijeoma introduces the AllSafe Intelligence Three-Engine Framework, which maps AI investment to the three core drivers of every business: customer acquisition, operations, and customer experience. Rather than fixing the loudest broken process, the framework looks at how AI agents across all three engines work together, creating compounding efficiency gains that no single point solution can deliver.

“The real magic happens when you expand all the engines and have them integrated with AI agents — AI employees — that are communicating with one another.”

Managed IT Meets AI Consulting

AllSafe IT sits at the intersection of managed IT services and AI consulting, offering businesses an integrated path from foundational infrastructure to intelligent automation. The firm treats AI not as a tool to bolt onto legacy systems, but as a layer of automated intelligence built on a secure, well-managed technology foundation. The same philosophy has shaped more than 100 client engagements across Southern California.

Built in Pasadena, Serving the San Gabriel Valley

AllSafe IT is headquartered in Pasadena and has served the San Gabriel Valley for more than two decades. Local engineers provide same-day on-site support across Old Pasadena, the South Lake business district, the Playhouse District, and the CalTech and JPL corridor, as well as San Marino, Arcadia, South Pasadena, La Cañada Flintridge, and Glendale. The firm’s clients in the area include law firms, medical practices, accounting firms, and financial advisors, the professional services backbone of Pasadena’s economy.

BROKIS Launches Arcade and Arcade+ – Contemporary Chandeliers by Boris Klimek

“New collection merges exposed electrical cables with classic chandelier aesthetics in functional and sculptural lighting compositions”

LONDON, UK – BROKIS has released the complete Arcade collection by Czech designer Boris Klimek, available in two distinct versions: Arcade and Arcade+. The collection reinterprets the traditional chandelier by replacing ornate metalwork with graceful arcs of synthetic silk cord carrying handblown cylindrical glass elements, creating lighting systems that bridge technical simplicity and decorative elegance.

Arcade represents a contemporary approach to chandelier design. It brings together two seemingly opposing aesthetic directions — the functional directness of exposed electrical infrastructure and the ceremonial presence of classical chandeliers. The result is a lighting collection where handblown glass elements appear to levitate along suspended cord arcs, forming compositions suitable for private residences, hospitality venues, and public spaces.

Arcade+ extends the collection’s functional range by incorporating a bottom spotlight element, allowing designers to add task lighting or accent illumination without compromising the purity of the original concept. Both versions use identical glass and cord components, allowing mixed specifications across multi-room installations.

Two versions, one design language

The distinction between Arcade and Arcade+ reflects a practical approach to lighting specification. Arcade serves applications requiring primarily ambient or decorative illumination — above dining tables, in entrance halls, or as sculptural centrepieces in residential living spaces. The cord-suspended glass cylinders provide soft diffused light suitable for mood lighting and visual composition without requiring additional task lighting.

Arcade+ addresses situations where ambient lighting alone is insufficient. The integrated bottom spotlight can deliver focused illumination for bar counters, accent specific architectural features, or provide secondary lighting in hospitality settings. The spotlight mechanism is positioned to remain visually discrete while adding functional flexibility.

Both versions employ the same design language — graceful cord arcs, cylindrical glass elements, adjustable suspension heights, and modular configurations allowing single-pendant or multi-element compositions. A designer specifying Arcade+ for a hotel bar counter can use identical glass shapes and cord spans as Arcade installations in guest corridors, creating visual continuity across the property.

This two-version approach reflects practical design thinking. Rather than creating entirely separate product lines, both share component vocabulary while serving different lighting needs.

Suspension system as design element

Arcade’s defining technical feature is the synthetic silk cord suspension system. Unlike conventional pendant fixtures where cables serve purely functional roles, the cords in Arcade become the primary visual element — creating catenary curves (the natural sag of suspended rope) that reference architectural arcades and historical cable-supported structures.

The cord arcs span between mounting points at adjustable angles, allowing designers to create regular rhythmic patterns, asymmetric compositions, or clusters depending on spatial requirements. Handblown glass cylinders attach at variable positions along each arc, providing points of light within the curved geometry.

The synthetic silk cord — chosen for strength-to-weight ratio, UV resistance, and textile aesthetic — supports the glass elements without requiring rigid suspension rods or metal armatures. The cord itself becomes the structural logic and visual language, eliminating the visual clutter of conventional pendant wiring.

This approach delivers chandelier-scale impact at significant spans without the structural complexity of traditional crystal fixtures. A composition above a large dining table or hotel lobby can span several meters using the same lightweight cord suspension system as a single pendant.

Handblown glass and LED integration

Each glass element in both Arcade and Arcade+ is a handblown cylinder produced at Janštejn Glassworks in the Czech Republic, where BROKIS lighting has been manufactured since 1809. The glass provides soft light diffusion while maintaining the visual lightness that defines the collection.

LED sources are integrated into metal housings at each glass element position, with options for warm white (2700K), neutral white (3000K), or tunable white specifications. For Arcade+, the bottom spotlight uses separate LED specification allowing warm or cool accent lighting independent of the ambient cord-suspended light sources.

All components — glass, cord, LED housings, and canopy mounts — are field-replaceable, supporting BROKIS’s design philosophy of longevity and serviceability. A damaged glass cylinder can be ordered individually. Cord sections can be replaced without removing the entire installation. LED sources can be updated to newer technology without fixture replacement.

Designer Boris Klimek’s approach to chandelier reinterpretation

Boris Klimek approached the chandelier brief by investigating how exposed infrastructure could become an aesthetic principle. Rather than concealing electrical complexity behind decorated forms, Arcade makes the suspension mechanism visible and primary. The cords and their inherent geometry — catenary curves under tension — became the design starting point.

Klimek’s research referenced both contemporary minimalism (where simplicity and honesty of materials are valued) and historical architecture (where cable-supported structures created elegant spans). Arcade synthesizes these approaches, treating the chandelier less as a decorative object and more as a suspension system that reveals its own logic.

The two-version structure reflects Klimek’s pragmatic design philosophy. Rather than creating a theoretical sculpture that solves only aesthetic problems, Arcade and Arcade+ acknowledge the practical reality that lighting requires both visual presence and functional performance. The two versions allow designers to specify based on actual light requirements rather than forcing a single solution.

Specifications and installation considerations

Arcade and Arcade+ support single-pendant specifications for locations requiring minimal visual impact, and compositions spanning multiple meters for large residential and hospitality spaces. Standard configurations include:

Single pendant — One glass element on a single cord arc. Suitable for intimate spaces, bedside applications, or accent lighting.

Linear composition — Multiple glass elements arranged along parallel cord arcs. Recommended for dining tables, kitchen islands, and bar counters where rectangular spaces benefit from aligned illumination.

Radial composition — Glass elements distributed across multiple cord arcs radiating from a central canopy. Used in entrance halls, large restaurant spaces, and hotel lobbies requiring three-dimensional visual impact.

For Arcade+, the bottom spotlight can be integrated into one or more elements within a composition, allowing selective accent lighting while maintaining ambient illumination across the full installation.

Ceiling mounting specifications depend on composition size and cord span. BROKIS provides engineering consultation for complex installations with challenging ceiling conditions, architectural obstacles, or custom load requirements.

Availability and specification support

Arcade and Arcade+ are available through BROKIS at EDC for specification by interior designers, architects, and lighting consultants working on residential and hospitality projects. Both versions are accessible through the BROKIS online configurator, allowing designers to visualize custom compositions with quantity, glass color, cord angles, and drop height specifications.

For complex installations requiring custom ceiling solutions, three-dimensional rendering, or engineering analysis, BROKIS at EDC offers free trade consultation. Designers submit floor plans, elevations, and lighting briefs; within five working days they receive rendered visualizations of the proposed composition in their space, complete with technical specifications and pricing.

The collection is manufactured on demand at Janštejn Glassworks, with typical lead times of 8-12 weeks depending on custom specification complexity.

His approach combines historical architectural references with contemporary minimalism, often revealing structural logic as the primary design element. Arcade is his first collection for BROKIS, and represents a synthesis of his interest in visible systems, material simplicity, and functional clarity.
