The technique is based on Nature & Forest Therapy, also known as Forest Bathing, which is famous in Japan and all over the world as a wellness practice. Forest bathing was recognized in 2023 by the U.S. Psychiatric Association for its many physical and psychiatric health benefits. The restorative practice, known as “Shinrin-yoku” in Japanese, was developed to help people reconnect and commune with nature. Shinrin-yoku translates to, “taking in the atmosphere,” or “medicine of the forest.”

“Forest Therapy is incredibly beneficial,” said Flowers. “Nature & Forest Therapy provides many benefits, including decreased stress, improved mood, a better immune system, and reduced blood pressure.”

World Peace Day established by U.N. resolution in 1981 calls for global commemoration of strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples.
